QNAP launches the Intel Xeon W-driven TS-2888X AI-ready NAS
QNAP Systems has finally unleashed the TS-2888X AI-ready NAS that has been unveiled more than four months ago. With powerful Intel Xeon W processors inside and a flash-optimized hybrid storage architecture designed to handle IOPS-intensive workloads, this storage accessory "packs everything required for machine learning AI, greatly reducing latency, accelerating data transfer, and eliminating performance bottlenecks caused by network connectivity to expedite AI implementation."
As previously announced, the Intel Xeon W-driven TS-2888X can accommodate — depending on the model and configuration options chosen — up to 512 GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM 2666 MHz memory, up to eight 3.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s hard drives, sixteen 2.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s SSDs, and four 2.5-inch U.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSDs, as well as up to 4 high-end graphics cards for increased processing power. All these need a lot of power, so QNAP decided to use a 2,000 Watt 80Plus Platinum-rated PSU.
Thanks to the exclusive QuAI developer package, organizations can easily install and maintain AI apps. QuAI supports a wide range of open-source tools and frameworks, such as Caffe, TensorFlow, FaceNet, and more.
To find out more about the available configurations, their prices, and the hardware choices at your disposal, feel free to contact QNAP Systems directly or your local authorized resellers. However, you might want to check this detailed presentation of the TS-2888X first.
