Introduced today and already available to order from QNAP's partners worldwide, the QSW-1105-5T is the company's first 2.5 GbE network switch. Its highlights include five 2.5 GbE NBASE-T RJ45 ports, plug-and-play setup, auto-negotiation, as well as automatic loop detection and blocking.

The latest networking accessory by Taiwan-headquartered QNAP Systems is the QSW-1105-5T network switch, which was announced earlier today. This networking accessory is QNAP's first switch to offer 2.5 GbE connectivity and promises to deliver a conveninent solution for those looking to upgrade their network and obtain the best possible performance while keeping the budget within reasonable limits.

The QNAP QSW-1105-5T needs no complex settings and can be used with existing network cables. In addition to its plug-and-play setup process, this network switch offers five 2.5 GbE NBASE-T RJ45 ports, automatic loop detection and blocking, auto-negotiation, as well as network loop detection that can automatically lock affected ports to keep the whole network up and running properly.

The QSW-1105-5T has a maximum power consumption of just 12 W, a fanless design for silent operation, and there are also two more values that you might be interested in: 16K MAC address table and a Jumbo frame size of 9K.
