A seemingly coordinated series of burglaries has taken place in Iceland leading to the loss of around US$2 million worth of computing equipment used to mine Bitcoin. The thefts actually occurred back in December and January, but they have only just been reported as Iceland’s police did not want to reveal details until their investigation had been completed. An estimated 600 devices were taken.

The Light Phone 2 has just been announced on crowdfunding website Indiegogo. This is the second-generation “anti-smartphone” device created by the developer Light. Japanese video-game developer Square Enix will be releasing a free playable demo of Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition on February 26. The action RPG was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016 and received generally favorable reviews. Over seven million copies of the game have been sold worldwide and Square Enix will be hoping for similar healthy sales when the full game is launched for the Microsoft Windows platform.
