OnePlus 6T will get new UI and more, according to company software reps
A new interview conducted with the OnePlus software team members Crayon Hsieh, the head of UX at OnePlus and Szymon Kopeć, an OS team leader. They answered some questions on the new user experience and interface that will be associated with the 6T. This phone has been confirmed for release on October 30, and will update the OnePlus 6, now a few months old.
The 6T is widely expected to run Android Pie (9.0) out of the box. This may have been corroborated by Kopeć, who referred to multiple swipe-based navigation gestures. They include swiping up from the right to access Recents, due to the lack of a navigation bar in the 6T's version of Oxygen OS, OnePlus' custom Android skin. Both team members indicated that these gestures, as well as the entire UI, may be enhanced in terms of smoothness and ease of use in the 6T.
Furthermore, Kopeć stated that the 6T will have an entirely new UI, rather than that found in the 6 or other older OnePlus phones. Finally, he also hinted at an overhauled camera interface for the new phone, but would not go into detail on this point.
