OnePlus 6T: latest leak suggests the update is more incremental than previously thought
Judging by the strategies of the last few years, OnePlus is likely to unveil a late-year refresh for its current flagship, the 6, by about October. Not long ago, it was confirmed that this model, most likely to be known as the 6T, will be the first OnePlus phone to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. This feature, to be known as Screen Unlock, may have a positive effect on the hype around the device. The next official announcement, which concerns the '6T's' loss of a headphone jack, may modulate it somewhat, however.
Other, less concrete, indications around the next OnePlus offering suggest that it may incorporate some features from the Oppo R17 Pro - most notably its triple-camera arrangement. However, the newest rumor, which circulates around an image of a smartphone's back panel, does not support this speculation.
This image, posted by WinFuture, displays the back panel of the OnePlus 6, quartered by that of a second device. Unfortunately for the pre-existing leak, the two phones' camera modules line up exactly. On the other hand, the rest of the phone does not, suggesting that the second device is taller than the 6. The fingerprint scanner, which is found on the back of the 6, is not mimicked by the putative new device in the right half of the image, however.
This suggests a 6T with Screen Unlock but without a completely new camera module. On the other hand, we still have at least three weeks before we can confirm these rumors for sure.
