OnePlus has revealed the date of the launch event for its upcoming 6T smartphone: October 30. The event will take place at Pier 36 in New York City and will give users a chance to check out the “innovation” that the Shenzhen-based company has been promising for its latest release. Event tickets can currently be purchased from the OnePlus website for US$20/£16/17 Euros.

OnePlus has taken to Twitter to announce the launch event date for the 6T smartphone. The tweet features a 14-second video clip informing viewers that the launch will take place in New York City on October 30. An official website for the event has also been created and is offering OnePlus fans a chance to attend in person, for a current price of US$20/£16/17 Euros (apparently reduced from US$30/£23/26 Euros for early-bird purchasers).

There has been some anticipation in regard to the OnePlus 6T device's release. The OnePlus 6 received a “very good” rating when reviewed by Notebookcheck, with positive points including its overall high quality, the great communication features, and its decent camera setup. Numerous leaks have appeared about the expected specifications of the OnePlus 6T smartphone, but it will be good to have them officially confirmed at the end of the month.

The OnePlus 6T will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and likely sport a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. Notch-haters will once more be disappointed to find out that the flagship variant will have a notch, albeit in a preferred “waterdrop” format. The device will be missing a 3.5-mm headphone jack, to make way for “more technology,” according to OnePlus cofounder Carl Pei.

For those who can’t make it to Pier 36 in NYC on October 30, the launch event will also be shown on a livestream at OnePlus’ official YouTube channel, starting from 11 a.m. EDT.
