Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti review: Gaming laptop without a screen as a space-saving alternative to the desktop PC
Extremely thin gaming PC!
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti promises desktop performance in a compact format. Equipped with the powerful Intel Core i9-14900HX and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU, it is aimed at gamers, creatives, and professionals who need maximum performance in minimal space. In this test, we examine the mini PC closely and check whether it lives up to the high expectations.Sebastian Bade, 👁 Sebastian Bade, ✓ Anton Avdyushkin (translated by DeepL / Ninh Duy) Published 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 ...
Verdict - Mini PC with dedicated GPU masters current games
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti is a compact and powerful mini PC primarily aimed at gamers. The powerful model is equally suitable for creative tasks and professional applications. The test shows that it delivers desktop-like performance despite its compact design. The Intel Core i9-14900HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop form a strong foundation and enable uncompromising gaming in Full HD. Visually, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti stands out from most conventional mini PCs, although the proximity to the Minisforum NUCXi7 is unmistakable. The revised design is more appealing and timeless, so the device can also be placed well in the living room.
The cooling system works efficiently overall and keeps the temperatures within an acceptable range even under load. However, the noise emission is anything but pleasant if you always want the full performance. If you have sensitive ears, you should rather use the office mode, even if it somewhat reduces the performance. In any case, it is sufficient to deliver a similarly high gaming performance. The modern USB4 interface is certainly good if you need it, but the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti is not convincing regarding the number of external interfaces. In terms of price, Minisforum is quite reasonable, with an RRP of 2,049 euros. Previously, we have seen that this is hardly sustainable, which is the case with our test configuration, which costs EUR 1,639. That's still a lot and compared to a conventional desktop system, you're not really saving anything here. The only thing that remains is the outstanding efficiency and the extremely compact design in combination with the great performance.

With the AtomMan G7 Ti, the Chinese system manufacturer Minisforum presents a mini PC that combines maximum performance in a compact format. Equipped with the Intel Core i9-14900HX and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop the compact PC is aimed at users who value high performance in a limited space. The focus is primarily on gaming performance, which is underpinned by the dedicated graphics card. In terms of price, however, you have to dig deep into your pockets. The test device currently costs 1,679 euros, which is roughly what you would have to fork out for a similarly equipped laptop. However, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti lacks a display, which is unfortunately not reflected in the price. Slightly cheaper compared to a laptop is the configuration with Intel Core i7-14650HX, which is significantly more attractive. The model with the graphics card, which is also equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop, is starting from just €1,480.
In this test, we take a detailed look at the strengths and weaknesses of the AtomMan G7 Ti and check whether the mini PC can deliver high performance without compromising on cooling, noise, or stability. We also look at the performance that can be expected in gaming and office mode.

Specifications
Case - Good combination of metal and plastic
The housing of the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti is characterized by a modern and compact design that combines functionality and aesthetics. The housing itself is designed for vertical use, as horizontal use would cover the ventilation openings. The base ensures a secure stand and is screwed to the device. Plastic and aluminum are used in the choice of materials. The blue-grey side elements are made of aluminum, giving the device a high-quality look and feel. The manufacturer has installed a small, illuminated element on the front, which can be controlled via the Control Center.
Thanks to its vertical design, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti takes up very little space. The gaming PC weighs just 2.5 kilograms including the stand, while the power supply unit weighs in at 673 grams.
Equipment - Limited options, but with USB4
The external interfaces are spread across the front and rear and, at first glance, everything important is there. In terms of the number of interfaces, however, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti lags behind many other Mini PCs. There are a total of three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, as well as one HDMI and one LAN port. Of course, we don't want to forget to mention the high-performance SD card reader with UHS-II speed. If you have taken a look at the diagram of the external interfaces, you will notice that there is also a USB-C port on the back. This is a fully-fledged USB4 interface that can also be used for image output, among other things.
SD card reader and USB4 performance
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti has an SD card reader on the front, which impresses with its excellent performance. SD cards can be inserted in full size and with UHS-II support, large amounts of data can be transferred without long waiting times. The USB4 interface is slightly slower compared to its competitors. Nevertheless, we achieved respectable transfer rates with our test SSD (ADATA SE920).

Communication
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti contains a modern WLAN module from Intel. More precisely, it is the Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE200 WLAN module, which supports Wi-Fi 7 and can also work with the 6 GHz frequency band. We used the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 for the performance tests and documented consistently good results. There are clear differences in performance between the 5 GHz and 6 GHz frequency bands. If conditions permit, the 6 GHz frequency band should primarily be used for wireless communication. The wired network connection is an alternative, although only 1 Gbit speed is possible here.
Accessories
In addition to the device, the scope of delivery also includes the 230-watt power supply unit and the stand to position the device vertically. The mounting material (screws) to attach the stand to the device is also included. However, screwing is not absolutely necessary, as in our case the stand could only be attached to the intended position with force. A magnetic mounting option, such as with the Minisforum G7 PT would certainly be a more elegant solution.
Maintenance
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti does not have a direct maintenance hatch. The side cover must therefore be removed for upgrades or maintenance work on the device. This is fixed to the underside with three screws, which must first be unscrewed. Despite this, the side cover is still very firmly attached to the base thanks to some sturdy plastic hooks. Care should be taken here so as not to break off the retaining clips. A look inside reveals that laptop components are installed here. RAM, SSD, and the WLAN module can be replaced and the fans are also easy to clean. A total of two M.2 SSDs can be installed in the device. It should be noted that only one-sided SSDs can be fitted.
Sustainability
The packaging consists mainly of paper, cardboard, and foam parts to protect the device during transportation. The manufacturer does not advertise any specific sustainability measures.
Performance - Intel Core i9-14900HX is the right choice
The Intel Core i9-14900HX is a high-end CPU from the laptop sector and is still one of the most powerful processors. In combination with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop, the team delivers good gaming performance. Alternatively, the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti can also be equipped with an Intel Core i7-14650HX. The loss of 8 E-Cores compared to the top model can be compensated, allowing for some savings (approx. 200 euros). There are no alternatives when choosing a dedicated graphics card.
Test conditions
We carried out all performance tests for the overall rating in gaming mode. This can be activated in the BIOS at the touch of a button on the front or via the Control Center and allows the GPU and CPU to consume more power under load. The BIOS looks modern but does not give the user many options for optimizing the device. It is not possible to manually adjust the power consumption or the fan curve.

Processor
The Intel Core i9-14900HX is a mobile high-end processor of the 14th generation, based on Intel's Raptor Lake Refresh architecture. With 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency cores) and 32 threads, it offers high performance in all conceivable workloads. Thanks to a TDP range of 55 to 157 watts, the Intel Core i9-14900HX can also work in a more economical mode. Minisforum allows the processor a short-term power consumption of up to 115 watts in gaming mode, although a permanent 90 watts is specified. In the more economical office mode, the power consumption drops to a maximum of 85 watts under short-term load and 55 watts when continuous performance is required. Minisforum does not get the maximum performance out of the Intel Core i9-14900HX.
The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti scored consistently good results in the test. However, we only see a small difference compared to the average performance of the processor. In office mode, the Intel Core i9-14900HX still works very quickly, and even in this mode, the system works perfectly. The expected performance loss can be seen in the comparison table. However, it is astonishing that a better single-core speed is achieved with reduced power consumption.

Cinebench R15 Multi loop
The Cinebench R15 continuous loop shows the limits of the cooling system of the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti. The 115 watts available for the Intel Core i9-14900HX ensure high temperatures. As a result, the performance has to be constantly reduced. Towards the end, the performance can even be increased again slightly.
System performance
The installed hardware is high-end components, which is evident in day-to-day work. The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti masters this with flying colors and without noticeable latencies. The performance of its predecessor (Minisforum NUCX i7) was clearly surpassed, even though all other comparison devices did not reveal any significant weaknesses in our everyday testing.

DPC latencies
Our test sample shows that powerful hardware is no guarantee for low DPC latencies. Even when simply surfing with the Edge browser, we recorded high values, which increased again when playing the 4K test video. We also document a few dropped frames, which do not affect the playback flow due to the low number.

Mass storage
The mass storage from Kingston is not an unknown model at Minisforum. The system manufacturer from the Far East installs it in many of its mini PCs. The Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti has a model with 1 TB of storage space, which certainly won't make you jump for joy when used as a gaming PC. A 2 TB model would certainly be more appropriate here. In terms of performance, the SSD delivers good values when no continuous load is applied. During the stress test, we documented performance drops, which would certainly be increased after the installation of a second SSD as another heat source. The reason for that - both data carriers are arranged on top of each other. There is only one SSD in our test system, so there is still room for another storage device. In the Minisforum AtomMan G7 Ti, only single-sided SSDs can be installed, which should be taken into account for the barebone model as well as when upgrading with a second SSD.
