Verdict — Our New Favorite Clamshell From Lenovo
By focusing almost purely on the basics, the Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14 Aura Edition is easily one of Lenovo's best subnotebooks for travelers who just want an ultralight clamshell with the latest Intel processor but none of the fluff or tacked-on novelties. Panther Lake in particular is such a huge step up in terms of efficiency that reaching the <1 kg target weight requires fewer cut corners than one might expect. While older 14-inch form factors under 1 kg have existed in the past, their drawbacks were wide and obvious including poorer performance, shorter runtimes, no touchscreen support, and a more yielding chassis. The new Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14 Aura offers decent gaming-level performance (if configured with the X7), respectable battery life, OLED touchscreen as standard, and a rigid chassis for outstanding first impressions especially once you remember that it's over 500 g lighter than the competing XPS 14.
A few setbacks are nevertheless present as minor as they be. Users looking to maximize chassis rigidity and battery life will still find the heavier XPS 14 to be tougher, longer-lasting, quieter, and with more powerful internal speakers and 3.5 mm audio support. But, if you find yourself constantly moving about and not docked to a single desk for most of the day, then the Lenovo is arguably the stronger option.

Cons
Price and Availability
Lenovo is now shipping the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition starting at $1630 as configured in this review.
Unveiled at CES 2026 and launched just a few months later, the Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14IPH11 (or Yoga Slim 7i Ultra 14 Aura Edition G11) is one of the first Lenovo laptops to ship with Intel Panther Lake to replace the Meteor Lake options on the 2024 9th gen model and Lunar Lake options on the 2025 10th gen model. It sports a fully refreshed design yet again that skips the fancy 2.5D glass and massive 32 MP webcam sensors of yesteryear for a lighter and more focused approach.
Our test unit is a middle configuration with the Core Ultra 7 355 CPU for approximately $1700 USD. Lower-end SKUs include the Core Ultra 5 325 while higher-end SKUs have the Core Ultra X7 358H or Core Ultra X9 388H, but all configurations ship with the same 2.8K POLED touchscreen.
Competitors to the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra 14 include other flagship 14-inch subnotebooks like the MSI Prestige 14 AI+, Dell XPS 14, Asus Zenbook 14, or the HP OmniBook Ultra 14.

Specifications
Case
The Yoga Slim 7i Ultra 14 shares very similar external features to the AMD-based Yoga Slim 7a 14. Our Intel-based version, however, sports smaller hinges, a slightly shorter length, and a completely different motherboard design all leading to a significantly lighter weight of only 978 g. This is easily one of Lenovo's lightest 14-inch clamshells without needing to sacrifice rigidity or touchscreen features a la the LG Gram.
Notably, the hinges open very wide up to around 170 degrees.

Maintenance
Sustainability
The system utilizes up to 90 percent recycled magnesium alloy for the top cover, 60 percent recycled aluminum alloy for the keyboard base, 100 percent recycled copper and cobalt for the PCB and battery cells, respectively, and up to 90 percent PCC recycled plastic for various parts of the chassis. The packaging is free of plastic and fully recyclable.
Accessories And Warranty
There are no extras in the box beyond the AC adapter and paperwork. The usual one-year limited warranty applies if purchased in the US.
Input Devices
Display
The Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14IPH11 utilizes the exact same OLED panel as found on the Yoga Slim 7a 14AGP11 for essentially the same viewing experience between the two laptop models. Features like the 120 Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR1000 support, and 1800p native resolution are unchanged. The latter in particular is notably denser than on many other 14-inch screen sizes leading to a very sharp picture on our Lenovo.
When compared to the display on the 2025 Yoga Slim 7i Aura, the display on our new 2026 Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura has double the refresh rate, double the HDR brightness (up to 1056 nits in our testing), and 2.25x the resolution.

The display backlight flickers at 479.46 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 100 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting. The frequency of 479.46 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware. In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 7819 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured. | |||

Testing Conditions
We set Windows to Performance mode prior to running the benchmarks below.
Processor
The Panther Lake Core Ultra 7 355 is neck-to-neck with last year's Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 258V in terms of processor performance. Upgrading to the Core Ultra X7 is expected to increase multi-thread performance rather significantly by as much as 60 percent.
Note that downgrading to the less expensive Core Ultra 5 325 from our Core Ultra 7 355 configuration entails almost no performance deficit.

GPU Performance
The Panther Lake Xe3 4 iGPU is a decent improvement over the previous generation Iris Xe 96 EUs commonly found on many older Core i7 Ultrabooks. Performance levels are roughly on par with the competing Radeon 860M if not slightly faster.
Upgrading to the Core Ultra X7 Arc B390 configuration would increase graphics performance significantly by roughly 2.5x for GeForce RTX 3050-like gaming performance.

Stress Test
The CPU would boost to 3.6 GHz, 51 W, and 98 C when initiating Prime95 stress before falling and stabilizing to 3.1 GHz, 32 W, and 79 C just 30 seconds later. Turbo Boost potential is therefore limited on the Yoga Slim 7 Ultra 14.
GPU clock rate and temperature when running Cyberpunk 2077 would stabilize at 2500 MHz and 78 C, respectively, which is almost exactly what we recorded on the competing XPS 14 under similar conditions.
| Average CPU Clock (GHz) | GPU Clock (MHz) | Average CPU Temperature (°C) | |
| System Idle | -- | -- | 41 |
| Prime95 Stress | 3.1 | -- | 79 |
| Prime95 + FurMark Stress | 1.4 | 2400 | 74 |

Energy Management
Power Consumption
Consumption when running Prime95 would be about 12 percent less than the AMD-powered Yoga Slim 7a 14 even though our Intel CPU is 20 percent faster for superior performance-per-watt over the Ryzen AI 400 competitor. Similarly, both performance and performance-per-watt would again be slightly in Intel's favor when the GPU is stressed.
We're able to measure a temporary maximum of 69 W from the small (~5.5 x 5.5 x 2.9 cm) 65 W USB-C AC adapter when the CPU is fully stressed. Configurations with the faster Core Ultra X7 are expected to be slightly more demanding in general based on our experience with the XPS 16 SKUs.
