Verdict — New CPU, New OLED Touchscreen, New Higher Price
One of our main complaints about last year's Intel-powered Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 was its lack of OLED options as the sole IPS option had relatively poor colors for such a large screen size. The Lunar Lake CPU was otherwise extremely efficient with good graphics performance and even better battery life. For 2026, Lenovo has finally included optional OLED configurations for deeper and more vibrant colors, but the new Ryzen AI 7 445 CPU is less efficient and sometimes slower than last year's Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 256V option depending on the workload. In other words, our 2026 AMD test configuration trades away processor performance and efficiency for better display options making it feel like a step forward and a step back in many ways.
To get around the CPU drawback while still keeping OLED, users may want to skip the disappointing Ryzen AI 7 445 SKU for the significantly better and faster Ryzen AI 9 465. Conversely, this same 2026 model also comes with Intel Panther Lake options for generally better power efficiency than AMD. The user experience is otherwise essentially identical to the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 models.
Something we can't ignore about the new Lenovo is the relatively high price of $1600 as configured for this review. The competing HP OmniBook X Flip 16, which comes with the efficient Core Ultra 7 256V CPU and an even more impressive 3K OLED touchscreen, currently retails for only $900 to be a very strong alternative.
Pros
Cons
Price and Availability
Lenovo is now shipping the Yoga 7 2-in-1 16AGP11 with Ryzen AI 7 445 and 1200p OLED as reviewed for $1600. THe base Ryzen AI 5 and IPS configuration starts at $1230.
The Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 has been refreshed this year with both Intel Panther Lake and AMD Ryzen AI 400 CPU options as detailed during the CES 2026 unveil. Unlike the higher-end Yoga Pro 9 or lower-end IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 16, the Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 is a middle-tier option with a handful of optional luxury features.
Our test unit today is a midrange AMD SKU (sometimes called the Yoga 7a 2-in-1 16) with the Zen 5 Ryzen AI 7 445 CPU and 1200p OLED touchscreen for approximately $1600 USD. Other SKUs ship with the slower Ryzen AI 5 430 up to the faster Ryzen AI 9 465 with either 1200p IPS or 1800p OLED panel options.
Alternatives to the Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 include other 16-inch multimedia laptops like the HP Envy x360 2-in-1 16, Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1, or Asus VivoBook Flip series.

Specifications
Case
The 2026 Yoga 7 2-in-1 16 adopts the same external design as the 2025 model and so all our existing comments on last year's model still apply. Keep in mind that while port options remain the same as before, the USB-C ports on our AMD model lack Thunderbolt support and are limited to only 10 Gbps whereas the same USB-C ports on the 2025 Intel model are much faster at up to 40 Gbps.

Communication
Webcam
The webcam has been upgraded from 2 MP on last year's model to 5 MP for a sharper picture.

Sustainability
The chassis consists of 50 percent recycled aluminum on the bottom cover, and 30 to 90 percent recycled plastic for the battery, keycaps, and AC adapter casing.
The packaging utilizes no plastic and is fully recyclable.
Accessories And Warranty
The retail box includes a Yoga Pen 2 and even a magnetic case specifically for the stylus. While a neat idea, we don't see the pen case being particularly useful in practice especially for travelers who are more prone to losing auxiliary items.
The standard one-year limited manufacturer warranty applies if purchased in the US.
Input Devices
Display
Three touchscreen options are available as follows:
- 1920 x 1200, IPS, 400 nits, 60% sRGB, 60 Hz, glossy
- 1920 x 1200, OLED, 300 nits, 100% DCI-P3, 60 Hz, glossy
- 2880 x 1800, OLED, 1100 nits, 100% DCI-P3, 120 Hz, glossy, DisplayHDR 1000
The 1200p OLED panel is a good middle-ground option for users who want the deep contrast ratio and colors of OLED but don't want to overspend for the higher resolution and smoother native refresh rate configuration. We recommend avoiding the base IPS option due to its much narrower gamut and poorer viewing angles than OLED. Note that HDR is only supported on the 1800p OLED panel which can be almost 4x brighter than our 1200p OLED panel when in HDR mode.

* ... smaller is better
The display is well calibrated out of the box especially for a midrange model. Average grayscale and color deltaE values against the P3 standard are only 1.3 and 3.75, respectively, and so further calibration would only produce minimal improvements.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)
| Screen flickering / PWM detected | 474.6 Hz Amplitude: 20 % | ≤ 100 % brightness setting | |
The display backlight flickers at 474.6 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 100 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting. The frequency of 474.6 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware. In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 7962 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured. | |||
Performance
Testing Conditions
We set Windows and Lenovo Vantage to Performance mode prior to running the benchmarks below.
Processor
The Ryzen AI 7 445 provides only a mediocre performance boost of about 15 percent over the Core Ultra 7 256V in last year's Yoga 7 2-in-1 16ILL10 to be on par with the recently released Core Ultra 5 325. In fact, overall performance is somewhat disappointing as it's almost 20 percent slower than last year's Ryzen AI 7 350 due largely to the lower core count (6 vs. 8). The CPU feels more like a midrange Ryzen 5 processor despite its Ryzen AI 7 name.
Upgrading to the Ryzen AI 9 465 configuration is expected to increase multi-thread performance by as much as 50 percent. However, both offer the same level of NPU performance at 50 TOPS each.

System Noise
The single fan is unfortunately sensitive to onscreen loads much like on last year's Intel model. When running 3DMark 06, for example, the fan would begin pulsing rather quickly and reach its maximum RPM before the end of the first benchmark scene for a noise level that's slightly louder than what we recorded on the older Lunar Lake-V configuration.

Temperature
Surface temperatures can be warmer than the Lunar Lake-V configuration. When running demanding loads like games, for example, hot spots on the keyboard deck and bottom cover can reach over 48 C and 45 C, respectively, compared to 43 C and 37 C on the Intel option.
(-) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 48.2 °C / 119 F, compared to the average of 35.4 °C / 96 F, ranging from 19.6 to 60 °C for the class Convertible.
(±) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 45 °C / 113 F, compared to the average of 36.8 °C / 98 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 26.1 °C / 79 F, compared to the device average of 30.3 °C / 87 F.
(+) The palmrests and touchpad are cooler than skin temperature with a maximum of 29.4 °C / 84.9 F and are therefore cool to the touch.
(±) The average temperature of the palmrest area of similar devices was 28 °C / 82.4 F (-1.4 °C / -2.5 F).

Stress Test
The CPU would boost to 3.3 GHz and 51 W when initiating Prime95 stress before quickly falling to 3 GHz, 37 W, and 67 C. Core temperature is almost 20 C cooler than on last year's Lunar Lake-V model. Results seem to contradict our temperature findings above where the AMD model would have warmer surface temperatures than the older Intel model.

Energy Management
Power Consumption
Power efficiency is markedly worse than the 2025 Lunar Lake-V model even after considering the slightly faster multi-thread performance of our AMD model. When running Prime95, for example, our AMD system would demand almost 40 percent more power for a relatively small 15 percent boost in performance. The advantage tips even more heavily in Intel's favor when comparing graphics performance as our AMD system would still draw more power when running Cyberpunk 2077 despite the fact that the iGPU in the Intel system is almost 2.5x faster.
For significantly better performance-per-watt out of the AMD model, users will have to consider the higher-end Ryzen AI 9 465 configuration instead.
We're able to measure a temporary maximum draw of 69 W from the small (~5.5 x 5.5 x 2.9 cm) 65 W USB-C AC adapter when the CPU is fully stressed.

Battery Life
Runtimes are nowhere near as long as on the Lunar Lake-V version of this model with a difference of several hours between them. Nonetheless, 12+ hours of WLAN browsing is likely more than enough for most users.
