Lenovo's new mid-range 14-inch convertible comes with the latest 11th gen Intel parts and even Thunderbolt 4 compatibility for a little under $1000 USD. Its specifications are great on paper, but let's see how the machine actually performs.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is one of the Yoga 7i series, it is available in a 14-15.6-inch laptop and is equipped with Intel Core-i5 or Core-i7 11th Gen processor. Our unit is a 14-inch variant with an Intel Core-i7 11th Gen Processor and 1TB SSD. But how fast do you think it is? Can it be your companion on the go?

If you remember, should you have read our Yoga 9i (14) review, the more premium alternative didn’t go as planned. Lenovo tried to innovate with the palm rest area, and instead of a conventional touchpad, it had a glass touchscreen-like panel, that vibrates thanks to a haptic engine. Well, the idea was great, but the execution was pretty unimpressive.

Overall, though, we feel the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is an excellent value for the money. From its premium build quality and multi-purpose design in a 2-in-1 form factor, to the strength of Tiger Lake and thoughtful touches like a privacy shutter, this laptop delivers more than what you might expect for the money. The Lenovo Yoga 7i is not perfect, but it's a great value and worth considering if you are looking to spend less than a grand on a new laptop powered by Intel's latest Tiger Lake and Evo platform technologies.

Lisa Gade reviews the Lenovo Yoga 7i, a 14” Windows 2-in-1 laptop that’s also available in a 15” size. This is a premium sub-$1,000 Ultrabook with Intel EVO certification that runs Windows 10 on Intel 11th gen Ice Lake CPUs with Intel Iris Xe graphics and it has a full HD touch screen with Wacom AES active pen support. We look at the $799 model that has a sandblasted aluminum casing, Core i5 and a fast NVMe M.2 SSD. It has a high capacity battery for long runtimes, a webcam privacy shutter and fingerprint scanner. It’s the successor to the Lenovo C740. It competes with the HP Envy x360 and Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 models.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is an impressive machine, not just due to its 2-in-1 capabilities but also considering how portable it is, while still packing a punch in the processing department. The construction is firm and a bit rigid around the hinge but it posed no problems with the opening and closing of the lid. The Yoga 7i is as light as a 14-inch laptop can get and is backed up by a decent battery to see it through a day of usage. While my review unit is priced at Rs 99,990, the i5 version of the device carries a \ price tag of Rs 85,990. I think that the Yoga 7i is a compelling everyday machine with the right balance of performance, style, and portability and as such is on top of my recommendations list. You have the option to go with bulkier contenders like the Asus TUF F15 or the Dell G5 (review) for a better gaming experience or switch to the M1 MacBook Air… but if your work doesn’t involve a lot of graphics-related tasks and you want to take the Windows route, the Yoga 7i should suffice easily.

I love thin-and-light laptops. But over time I have realised that ultraportable laptops come with a lot of compromises, sometimes ignoring the basics, to settle for a mediocre experience. I can give you countless examples to prove my point.

If you ever wanted a big-screen 2-in-1 laptop regardless of how much it could weigh, then the new 16-inch Lenovo Yoga 7 convertible should fit the bill nicely. The model offers some of the latest processors available including Intel 12th gen Core-P and Core-H CPUs and discrete Intel Arc graphics.

The Lenovo 7i 16 is a great laptop for anyone who wants a larger screen but doesn't want to sacrifice style, I say this as often 16-inch devices can often look and feel like cumbersome stationary devices. The 7i 16-inch looks and feels like a slightly larger version of Lenovo's flagship consumer 9i laptop. The 7i retains all the things that make the 9i a flagship while offering configuration options that are a bit more considerate of someone's budget, while keeping a baseline quality standard. Who the devices aren't for, are gamers or anyone who uses specialized graphical applications. While a year over year leap a couple of years ago, the Iris Xe graphics still fall short of a content creators' day-in and day-out dream. The throttling from either the U-Series and EVO specifications or simply Lenovo's Vantage software also means users will need to be mindful of their usage, especially unplugged.

Generally speaking, 15.6-inch and 16-inch convertible laptops are awfully unwieldy for use as tablets, but they shine when pivoted to easel or kiosk more for presentations and can take touch interaction further than a smaller notebook. If your budget permits we prefer the HP Spectre x360 16's dazzling OLED display, but the Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 Gen 7 is a great alternative and a superbly well-made solution for anyone seeking a larger 2-in-1.

Obviously, if you need the best possible performance, you won’t find it here, however, the portability aspect is important for many people and this is where the Yoga 7i shines. It can be very useful both as an office device or a photo editing station for the road, while also being great for consuming media with its convertible design.

Some notebooks these days require us to nit-pick so hard… this is the case with the Yoga 7i (14″, 2022), which is one of the most solid 14-inch convertibles on the market. Its redesign makes it feel fresh, while the feature package is beyond impressive. Lenovo has paired it with a quad-stereo speaker setup and provides you with not one, but two biometric authentication sensors – a fingerprint reader, and an IR face recognition scanner. Furthermore, the latter is working in conjunction with a 1080p Web camera, which is an improvement by itself. Add a privacy shutter to the mix, and you end up with a rather secure and private little machine. Lenovo Yoga 7i (14″, 2022)’s 2.2K IPS panel has comfortable viewing angles and a very high contrast ratio. It covers 97% of the sRGB color gamut, which is pretty wide and results in a rather vibrant color output. Furthermore, it doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. What is equally important for creators and designers is that the color accuracy is right within the sRGB standard.

The port assortment is just enough, with two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a microSD card slot and an HDMI out on the left, and a headset jack and USB-A port on the right. I really wish laptop-makers would be better about separating USB-C ports, having at least one on each side. Not only is it more flexible for charging, but it also makes connecting docks and adapters easier. It's certainly not a deal-breaker but it is an annoyance nonetheless. When it comes to an all-around excellent laptop for most people, Apple's MacBook Air is regularly our go-to recommendation. The Lenovo Yoga 7i Gen 7 gets a similar vote when it comes to two-in-one convertibles. From its design to its features to its performance and battery life, it's a great choice. And if you can get it for less than $1,000, it's an amazing value, too.

Spending over a lakh on a notebook is a huge investment and one should be clear about what exactly they want from a computer. The Yoga 7i is an easy recommendation because it stands out on various parameters, including performance which matters to me on a regular basis. And for a person like me who travels for work a lot, the Yoga 7i is a much smaller notebook, perfect to take along on trips. If you have great taste in design and want a premium Windows notebook, the Yoga 7i will fit the bill perfectly.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is an excellent convertible laptop. Here’s who should buy it. Using the Yoga 7i, I’m kind of in love with it. It’s such a great convertible. But still, I’m even more in love with the Yoga 9i. After all, that’s why it tops our best laptops list. So if you do want the best of the best, you should totally go for the Yoga 9i. For a bit more value, the Yoga 7i is a fantastic choice.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 14 Gen 7 brings Intel's latest silicon to a great 2-in-1 laptop, but it's more than just a processor upgrade. The new model features some of the best industrial design we've seen, whether you're focusing on its comfortably sculpted chassis to the not-a-notch webcam bar. Its performance and battery life rank with the best mainstream convertibles, and the whole package comes together so well it's a standout. This is a first-class 2-in-1 laptop that earns a PCMag Editors' Choice award.

Lenovo’s redesign of the Yoga 7i Gen 7 accomplished the same effect as with the more expensive Yoga 9i Gen 7. The Yoga 7i Gen 7 is an attractive laptop with a quality build, and its performance and battery life are solid. There’s an even better model on the way, though, with a higher resolution OLED display. That might be worth waiting for if you want a truly superior display.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
16.00:
This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
