MSI Prestige 13 AI+: A 13-inch laptop that proves ultralight doesn't mean underpowered

Anyone looking for a highly portable notebook and with the necessary budget should take a look at the Prestige 13 AI+. As our recent review revealed, MSI has created an exceptionally good 13-inch subnotebook that comes with virtually zero compromises.

Starting with the ports, which could easily be mistaken for those of a larger laptop. These include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which are also up-to-date. The processor is also impressive, although the Core Ultra 9 386H performs better on some competing models. While the CPU power is roughly on par with the Ryzen AI 7 350, the integrated Graphics 4 Xe3 performs at around the level of the Radeon 860M.

Owing to the moderate power consumption of the Panther Lake chip, the battery life is good (around 12 hours in Wi-Fi tests), although a larger battery would have offered even more potential. At just under 54 Wh, the battery capacity is somewhat meager compared to the competition, which ranges from 60 to 92 Wh. However, the Prestige 13 AI+ weighs (in some cases significantly) less than its rivals and so is very comfortable to carry around.
