Nvidia GeForce mobile options are ballooning out of control. Skip the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and go for the superior GTX 1660 Ti instead (Image source: Newegg)

Nvidia GeForce mobile options are ballooning out of control. Skip the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and go for the superior GTX 1660 Ti instead

The performance-per-dollar on GeForce 1650 Ti laptops aren't nearly as good as the GTX 1660 Ti which is only one step up for just $100 to $200 more. The 40 to 50 percent gaming performance gap is hard to ignore for any gamer casual or otherwise.

Here are 5 super simple ways we would improve the Dell XPS 17

As nice as it may look, the XPS 17 is missing a few quality-of-life features that many less expensive laptops already integrate. We'd love to see these addressed on the inevitable successor.

The LG Velvet scores some major points, because of its refined design and a Dual Screen case.

The LG Velvet is not for YouTube fans

With the Velvet, the Korean manufacturer has managed to pull off a fascinating comeback into the midrange smartphone segment. However, due to its very tall aspect ratio, the LG Velvet is not suitable for watching 16:9 or 18:9 video content.

Honor MagicBook 15 in review: Ryzen 5 in a stylish suit

The Honor MagicBook 15 has turned out pretty, but offers only mediocre endurance values

Honors' stylish 15.6-incher scores with a slim metal case, a Ryzen 5-APU and memory running in dual-channel mode. The battery life turns out decent, but not outstanding.

Older Dell Latitude 7300 runs just as fast as the latest Latitude 7310 (Image source: Dell)

Older Dell Latitude 7300 Core i7 runs just as fast as the newer Latitude 7310 Core i7

The differences in CineBench and PCMark benchmark scores between the 2019 Latitude 7300 and 2020 Latitude 7310 are merely just a few percentage points. For superior performance-per-dollar, the older Whiskey Lake-U-powered Latitude 7300 remains the better deal.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14s: AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U leaves Intel in the dust

After the ThinkPad T14s with the Intel Comet Lake processor, we also received the ThinkPad T14s with the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U processor. Our initial benchmarks show that the AMD CPU is much faster, despite similar power consumption figures.

Lenovo ThinkPad T14 with Intel CPU runs very hot in the test

Usually, newer hardware runs more efficiently than the older one. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 1. In our review, the 2020 ThinkPad disappoints with high temperatures and stagnating performance.

Samsung Galaxy Book S with the Lakefield processor is too expensive

Samsung Galaxy Book S with the Lakefield processor is too expensive

The new Lakefield processor transforms the Galaxy Book S into a "regular" laptop, but the performance is much lower compared to the rivals. The only advantage is the passive cooling solution, but this hardly justifies the high retail price of around 1100 Euros.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i 15IMH05 in review: Core i5 at full throttle

The Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i 15IMH05 fully exploits its CPU and GPU

Lenovo's mid-range gaming laptop brings all modern computer games smoothly onto the matte 120 Hz display (Full HD, IPS). At a price of about 800 Euros (~$903), it doesn't make that big of a dent in your wallet and can boast a good price-performance ratio. Good: The laptop has room for two NVMe SSDs.

Wish you could turn Nvidia Optimus on and off? The Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H lets you do just that

The Legion displays all games smoothly on its matte 15.6-inch display (120 Hz FHD, IPS). The integrated GPU is activated as a standard but can be deactivated with the click of a button. The battery life is very good as well.

Fujitsu Lifebook U939: An ultra-light business laptop

Even if there were already some discrete updates to the case, the Fujitsu Lifebook U939 remains a notebook of the old school. However, there is still some room for improvement, and in one place, we would even wish for a step back.

LG flagships are generally considered to have some of the best audio capabilities in the segment but the LG G8 ThinQ managed to disappoint when it made its way over to DxOMark. The LG V60 ThinQ has now also be tested, however, and appears to be a massive improvement across the board.

Fujitsu Lifebook U939X: A touchscreen should look like that!

MateBook 13: This is the best chipset for the Huawei laptop

With the MateBook 13, Huawei has a low-priced subnotebook in its product portfolio, which confronts buyers with the choice between an Intel or an AMD chipset. This is not an easy decision as neither of the two achieves a real dominance.

The bright, evenly illuminated and high-contrast OLED panel is the highlight of the mid-range mobile phone.

The Oppo Find X2 Lite lacks unique selling points – AMOLED alone is not enough

At a street price of around 440 Euros (~$494), the Find X2 Lite lacks the purchase arguments against the strong mid-range competition in this price segment. The Snapdragon 765 mobile phone doesn't have the sophisticated looks of its sibling models, the Find X2 Neo and Find X2 Pro, to attract the attention of potential buyers.

Mi 10 Pro: A flagship phone with one major weakness?

AMD hitting Intel where it hurts: 2020 Ryzen 5 HP Envy x360 13 vs. Intel Core i7 Spectre x360 13

The Ryzen 5 4600U-powered Envy costs hundreds of dollars less than the Core i7-1065G7 Spectre and yet it is able to run longer and faster while being just as thin and light. Maybe it's time for HP to add the same Ryzen options for its flagship Spectre series.

On the plus side of the Find X2 Neo there is no doubt the excellent and very bright 90 Hz AMOLED panel.

The noble Oppo Find X2 Neo struggles with its very high RRP

The Find X2 Neo looks great. However, the Oppo smartphone receives a lot of criticism in our test, which make the mid-range smartphone appear unattractive close to the targeted RRP of almost 700 Euros.

Entry-level HP systems like the Pavilion or even Envy series are notorious for their difficult end-user serviceability. Not only are the bottom panels sharp and difficult to remove, but screws are frequently hidden underneath glued rubber feet to discourage simple RAM or storage upgrades.

No chance for Intel: AMD Ryzen 7 4700U takes apart the Core i7-1065G7 in our Acer Swift 3 SF314-42 review

Acer's latest 14-inch laptop features the AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor, and boy does it do a job over the Intel competition. The same can be said for GPU performance, with the Radeon RX Vega 7 reaching almost NVIDIA GeForce MX250 levels. The Renoir architecture does not sacrifice battery life for performance, either. There is one downside to the Acer Swift 3 SF314-42, although this is outweighed by the device's many positive aspects.
