Like the predecessor, Xiaomi also focuses on the main camera in the 12T Pro, which now has 200 MP. The Samsung ISOCELL HP1, with its enormous resolution of 16,384 x 12,288 pixels, performs very well under testing, at least in sufficient light. As usual for this price range, the main camera comes with optical image stabilization and a large aperture of f/1.69. We grabbed a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for a quick comparison, which is based on the older 108-megapixel ISOCELL HM3 sensor.
In daylight, photos are very rich in contrast and detail with the 200 MP Samsung image sensor (ISOCELL HP1). Subjects are rendered rather coolly and are also subject to less post-sharpening than in the competition. Particularly in terms of the white value, the 12T Pro is much closer to reality than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, the upper-range phone from Xiaomi still has deficits in regard to exposure. In addition, the level of sharpness is not always convincing. The Chinese manufacturer has to make some improvements here.
Sharpness does not really get any better at night with the 12T Pro. Details are often lost in blur and we also see room for improvement in the brightness level.
