10 cores need a whole lot of power! Since Intel first revealed its new Comet Lake-S processors and its new chipsets at the end of April, we were able to get our hands only on the high-end Intel Core i9-10900K and the Intel Core i5-10600K. Intel’s CPUs are still the best for gaming, but this comes at a very high cost.

Mirror, mirror... After we were able to get an impression of the Asus ZenBook Flip 15 UX563FD, we now take a look at its smaller sibling model. It has to make do with a Full HD display instead of a 4K display in our test configuration, but it convinces with a high-quality case. What the 14-inch convertible has to offer apart from the design will be revealed in our review.

Display to go. Behind the somewhat cumbersome name is a portable monitor that is considered mobile at 770 grams and can be used for both laptops and smartphones. A matte 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel for a little more than 200 Euros (~$218) sounds tempting, but it cannot achieve everything it promises in the test.

Small changes. The latest Blade 15 revision brings just minor year-over-year upgrades. Users can expect slight keyboard changes, slight port changes, some storage differences, and a few new configurable options here and there. Otherwise, overall gaming performance remains about the same as the 2019 Blade 15 series.

Still a hot machine. The ThinkPad E490 is available with an optional dedicated GPU. Similar to the predecessor, however, the cooling solution struggles with the additional heat, and even multiple BIOS updates did not change that.

Look out, bargain hunters! After the launch of the new Zen2 processors, it was only a matter of time before even the entry-level models would benefit from the advantages of the new CPU architecture. We took a closer look at the two small Ryzen 3 models and were impressed at what AMD had come up with.

More than just a tablet. Even though the iPad Pro 12.9 (2020) is cheaper than its predecessor, it comes with superior hardware. For example, Apple has equipped its tablet for professional users with a stronger SoC as well as a new 12-MP camera with a LiDAR sensor. The device is still holding on to the claim of being able to fully replace a traditional laptop.

Mobvoi, a Chinese company known in the market for wearables such as the "Ticwatch" smartwatch series or the wireless TicPods earbuds, heralded the second generation of TicPods with the "TicPods 2" and "TicPods 2 Pro" at the beginning of January. We received a review unit of the TicPods 2 Pro for testing and will describe our impressions here.

Missed opportunity - or on purpose? The new 2020 MacBook Air is better thanks to an improved keyboard as well as more powerful CPUs. Many reviews even say it is the best MacBook you can get right now. If you have a closer look, however, you will still see the big problem with the performance and the cooling solution. Apple definitely missed an opportunity here.

A universal genius? The Plus model of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series offers a bit more of everything than the Galaxy S20 does. Faster than the Intel Core i9-9880H. The octa-core Ryzen 9 4900HS would be impressive on any 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch gaming laptop, but to see it work so well in such a small 14-inch form factor is extraordinary. There are, however, one or two caveats preventing it from being the ultimate gaming laptop.

Heavyweight. Acer's 17.3-inch workstation shines with a lot of performance, a 4K touchscreen display with an included Wacom stylus, and a Thunderbolt 3 port. The configuration is excellent otherwise as well: 32 GB of RAM, 16 GB of VRAM, NVMe SSD (1 TB).

4K Comet Lake-U refresh. Lenovo has swapped out the older Whiskey Lake-U CPU for a newer Comet Lake-U one on this latest X1 Carbon refresh. Performance differences, however, are minimal meaning you won't miss much if you already own a 2018 or 2019 model.
