Conclusion: Bosgame M5 as a high-end mini PC with 128 GB RAM and Radeon RX 8060S
The Bosgame M5 impresses in the test as a compact PC with impressive performance. The combination of the AMD Strix Halo APU with the powerful Radeon RX 8060S, 128 GB RAM, and a fast 2 TB SSD ensures strong performance in games, 3D rendering and workstation tasks. Even under full load, the system remains comparatively cool and quiet - a clear advantage in this performance class. The solid workmanship and good connectivity round off the overall package. For a comparatively low purchase price, the Bosgame M5 is a mighty mini PC that also scores points with its high AI performance. With the option of assigning up to 96 GB of RAM to the graphics card, the mini PC has a major advantage over many other PCs.
There is criticism for the complicated design, which makes maintenance work more difficult. A more customizable fan control would also be desirable. However, the Bosgame M5 does not make a massive mistake. If you want maximum performance in a mini format, the Bosgame M5 is not a toy, but a real powerhouse - and therefore one of the most exciting mini PCs of 2025.
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The Bosgame M5 is currently available in two configurations and can be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Our test configuration with 128 GB RAM is available from $1,699 USD, although the variant with 96 GB RAM is available from $1,489 USD. The manufacturer points out that customs duties and VAT are not included.
The Bosgame M5 is currently one of the most powerful mini PCs on the market. In the tested version, an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and an AMD Radeon RX 8060S are used. A whopping 128 GB of fast LPDDR5X-8000 RAM is available, which is also used by the powerful iGPU. This is a clear advantage, especially for locally executed AI instances, as up to 96 GB can be allocated to the iGPU. With these features, the Bosgame M5 clearly stands out from the masses of other mini PCs.
Specifications
Housing & equipment
The Bosgame M5 relies on a robustly built case with a plastic core, the top and bottom sides of which are made of metal and give the mini PC a high-quality feel. There are some air intakes on the top, but they are comparatively small. The discreet color scheme looks elegant and blends harmoniously into a simple working environment.
The Bosgame M5 offers versatile connectivity with several USB-A and USB-C ports (USB4), HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, as well as image output via USB-C for up to four monitors. A fast card reader is also available, as is state-of-the-art network technology: thanks to Wi-Fi 7, the mini PC achieved excellent values in the test.

Maintenance
The maintenance opening on the underside to install an additional mass storage device is commendable. The manufacturer prevents more maintenance options due to the design. However, if you remove the rubber elements on the underside, you will still find a few screws to open the device. Apart from an additional mass storage device, only the WLAN module can be replaced.
Sustainability
Bosgame does not provide any specific information on sustainability measures in the production process. The packaging consists mainly of cardboard and is supplemented by a few foam elements to protect the device.
Performance
The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is one of AMD's current flagships among mobile processors. Thanks to its high computing power and high-performance iGPU, the SoC is ideal for ultra-compact PCs with maximum performance. The Bosgame M5 also comes with 128 GB of RAM, which is the best configuration currently available.
Test conditions
All tests relevant to the evaluation were carried out in performance mode. In addition to this, there is also balanced mode and quiet mode, which limit the processor's power limits. The power limit can be changed directly in the BIOS or via a button on the device itself.
Processor
The Bosgame M5 is equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 one of the most powerful processors that AMD currently offers in the mobile segment. In performance mode, the SoC can be operated with 140 watts for short periods of time, although the power limit is 120 watts for longer loads. Although the HP Z2 Mini G1a provides more power with up to 160 watts, our test device can just come out on top in the average performance comparison. None of the other competitors can match the performance of the Bosgame M5 in combination with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. Even the Minisforum AI X1 Pro has to accept a gap of around 10 percentage points.

System performance
The Bosgame M5 offers an enormously high system performance overall, but is slightly behind comparable devices from our test field in some tests. The M5 can particularly show its strengths in the RAM benchmarks. A dedicated NPU with 50 TOPS ensures accelerated AI applications and works at roughly the same performance level as in the Minisforum AI X1 Pro.

GPU and gaming performance
The AMD Radeon RX 8060S installed in the Bosgame M5 delivers graphics performance that is comparable to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 laptop. This makes the Bosgame M5 one of the devices with the most powerful iGPU currently available in the consumer sector. Current games can be played smoothly as long as you mainly use a resolution of 1080p.

Temperature
The casing of the Bosgame M5 heats up noticeably on the underside under load. However, there are no extreme hotspots with values above 50 °C. As intended by the manufacturer, the processor briefly operates at up to 140 watts under load, although 120 watts is reached stably under continuous load.
(+) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 39.3 °C / 103 F, compared to the average of 36 °C / 97 F, ranging from 21.6 to 69.5 °C for the class Mini PC.
(-) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 48.1 °C / 119 F, compared to the average of 36.6 °C / 98 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 30.3 °C / 87 F, compared to the device average of 32.4 °C / 90 F.
(±) 3: The average temperature for the upper side is 33.7 °C / 93 F, compared to the average of 32.4 °C / 90 F for the class Mini PC.
Energy management
The Bosgame M5 scores with a comparatively low power consumption in relation to the performance offered. In idle mode, our test sample was content with 9 to 16 watts, which is slightly higher compared to the HP Z2 Mini G1a. Under load, the M5 is somewhat more economical, which is also due to the slightly lower power limits. However, the Bosgame M5 still performed slightly better in the performance tests, resulting in better efficiency.
