Following the recent rescue of VanMoof, another e-bike company is now in financial trouble. Danish brand Mate Bike is currently taking steps to try to avoid bankruptcy and continue trading. Various factors appear to have contributed to the problem, including a drop in demand and supply chain issues.

Integral Electrics has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the Maven cargo e-bike. The model has been designed by women, for women, with a lower centre of gravity for improved stability. Other features include adjustable suspension, fat tires and optional app controls.

A fully lifted Cybertruck has been filmed attacking the famed "Stair Steps" climbing challenge at the Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area. Tesla has been doing off-road tests there for a while in preparation for the Cybertruck's release date.

Decathlon has discounted the 2022 version of the Electric Cargo Bike Rear Loading Longtail R500 in the UK and France. The model has a 250W motor and 672Wh battery for up to 90 km (~56 miles) range. The cargo bike can support loads of up to 170 kg (~375 lbs), with storage provided through a front basket and rear rack.

Besides a solid-state battery in the making, Toyota has a huge perception potential to win over affluent Americans when it comes to buying an EV from an automaker other than Tesla. It is seemingly positioned to enter the next leg of the EV race with vehicles that are both competitive and desired in the US.

The Rivian R1T has become the first all-electric vehicle to win the Rebelle Rally, which takes the crown as the US's longest off-road rally. The 2,500-km (1,553 miles) course crosses the Nevada and California desert, and racers must use traditional mapping methods to reach the finish.

Toyota claims it is nearing production on solid-state battery technology, predicting that it will start shipping production EVs with solid-state batteries as early as 2027, although initial volumes will be low. The company is working with Idemitsu Kosan energy group on developing a sulphide solid electrolyte, which should increase battery durability.

Fisker has dropped the price of the Ocean Extreme SUV by US$7,500 to US$61,449, putting it well below the standard Dual Motor AWD Tesla Model X and much closer to the US$52,490 Model Y Performance. Fisker customers who have already ordered or purchased an Ocean Extreme will receive a US$7,500 price adjustment.

Tesla's 2024 VIN decoder reveals that the Cybertruck will be available in two different powertrains at launch. Initially, it will only be available in AWD, and it looks like Tesla may have abandoned the planned quad-motor AWD version of the electric pickup truck, at least for now.

Toyota and Lexus have become the last big automakers to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard for their future electric vehicles. This will give future Lexus EVs access to the whole of Tesla's Supercharger network in the US.

The Juiced RipCurrent S e-bike is being discounted by US$800 in the Brushed Aluminum colourway due to a clearance of discontinued stock. The fat-tyre e-bike features a 1,000 W (1,300 W), throttle-operated hub motor that purports to deliver speeds upwards of 28 mph (~45 km/h) for a claimed 70 miles (~113 km) of range.

An as-yet unannounced Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance looks like it may come with a new badge that looks similar to the graphic shown when Ludicrous mode is active. Not much is known about the hardware, but it may represent a sort of Performance Plus variant of the Model 3 refresh.

The Cybertruck's release date is pegged for November 30, but it will take well into 2025 for Tesla to achieve any meaningful production ramp, said Elon Musk, because of 'complex' features like 14-inch suspension travel. The 'utilitarian' Model 2, however, Tesla's mass electric car, could catch up with the Cybertruck soon thereafter.

The Yamaha AWD e-bike concept has been teased ahead of its unveiling at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in late October. The electric bicycle has twin motors for two-wheel drive and dual batteries for an extended assistance range. Other features include wide Pirelli tires and various handlebar options

Decathlon has launched the 2023 BTWIN Longtail Electric Cargo Bike R500E. The e-bike comes in new colors but is otherwise identical to the older model. Features include a 250W motor, up to 90 km (~56 miles) assistance range and load bearing up to 170 kg (~375 lbs) across a front basket and rear luggage rack.

The Toyota FT-3e and FT-Se concept electric vehicles have been teased ahead of their official unveiling later this month. The FT-3e is an SUV with an unusual digital display on the car's exterior. The FT-Se is a sporty coupe with an aerodynamic design and "next-generation cockpit".

A tentative leak on the Rivian forum indicates that the R1T and R1S may get an updated Ascent trim in 2024, increasing the power output of the dual-motor AWD EV to over 1,000 hp. Allegedly, this performance bump is enough to make the heavy car wheelie on hard launches.

Tesla has silently made the Model 3 Highland available for order in the United Kingdom after an EU release earlier this year. The new Model 3 is available in two trims for the time being, and the base Model 3 RWD starts at £39,990.

Stellantis has announced the Citroën ë-C3 for the European market. The new EV is built on Stelantis's Smart Car Platform. While it will only feature 199 miles (320.26 km) of WLTP range, the new EV will also only cost €23,300, with a €19,990 coming in 2025.

The next Tesla 2023.38 update version brings with it welcome new features such as the forecast amount of free Superchargers at a location. It also predicts how long would charging take by accounting for all the other Tesla drivers heading to the same station.

BMW is once again working with its long-time Indian manufacturing partner, TVS Motor, to produce the upcoming CE 02 electric moped. BMW pitches the new moped as an “eParkourer” and claims the top spec will be able to reach speeds of 95 km/h, with range topping out at 90 km.

The Kia EV3 concept electric Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) has been unveiled. The new model has a similar design to the EV9, though it is smaller. The interior features unusual fabrics, moving tables and chairs and natural colors. Plus, Kia has announced an AI assistant to optimize your use of the EV.

A fan of the Tesla Cybertruck happened to have a measuring tape on hand upon spotting one of the infamous electric pickup trucks. The measurements indicate that the Cybertruck will have an impressively-wide bed, despite being considerably narrower than the Ford F-150 Lightning and just barely skinnier than the Rivian R1T.

While Tesla just announced its 20 millionth 4680 battery cell produced at Giga Texas, range challenges might have been behind the launch delay of the Cybertruck equipped with such cells. The first Cybertruck deliveries were supposed to start back in September.

The government's new 'cash on hood' EV tax credit payment scheme could somewhat compensate for the 50% Model 3 subsidy reduction next year. The tax credit cut and laxer rules for its collection may precede the Model 3 Highland release in the US.

Qualcomm has revealed that it will cut over 1,200 jobs, or those of about 2.5% of its current employees, later in 2023. An all-electric BMW M car with a dual-motor rear-wheel-drive drivetrain could be on the cards for the German carmaker. This quirky drive-train arrangement could act as a sort of electronic limited-slip differential, give drivers more control over their vehicles, and allow BMW to implement its Drift Analyser feature for extra fun.

The Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted in Mexico during a photo shoot, with spy shots revealing a spacious frunk, comfortably seating a grown human man, and a much-improved bed design sans aggressively-slanted sides.

Tesla is expanding its wrap offerings beyond the Chinese market, where they have been available for some time. This new offering all but confirms that Tesla will offer first-party wraps for the Cybertruck, which has been spotted wearing all sorts of exciting and comedic vinyl in test runs.

The Kilow Gravel electric bicycle is now available to pre-order. The new model weighs just 11.6 kg (~25.6 lbs), thanks to a carbon frame, lightweight 250W motor and battery. The standard power pack provides up to 50 km (~31 miles) range, with an optional extender doubling this to 100 km (~62 miles).

BH Bikes has launched the iAerolight, a lightweight electric racing bike. The model weighs 11.8 kg (~26.0 lbs) and has a 250W 65 Nm motor. The iAerolight 1.7 and iAerolight 1.8 bicycles come with up to 130 km (~81 miles) assistance range as standard, with the range-topping iAerolight Pro 1.9 delivering up to 185 km (~115 miles) range.

The Kia 2024 EV9 SUV EV will open for reservations in the US later this month. The model will start at US$54,900, with the first units expected to ship later this year. Five trim levels will be offered, from the entry-level Light RWD to the range-topping GT-Line e-AWD with dual motors delivering 379 hp.

Xiaomi's upcoming first-gen car, is widely thought to land as a purely battery-powered electric vehicle (or BEV). However, according to the latest reports, it might also be possible to buy it as an extended-range EV (or E-REV). This kind of car integrates a small internal combustion engine (ICE) intended to help it run on electric power for longer.

Decathlon has launched the Elops Speed 900E electric city bike in various European countries. The new model has a Mahle X35 drivetrain with up to 80 km (~50 miles) range. Other features include smartphone connectivity, GPS tracking with the Decathlon Mobility app, and four assistance modes.

The 2024 Decathlon Rockrider E-FEEL range of electric mountain bikes has been revealed. The line-up includes three models with RockShox suspension, Shimano motors and a 630Wh battery. The two more expensive e-bikes feature automatic shifting thanks to Shimano Di2 transmissions.

Gasgas has launched the ECC 6, an electric endurance bike, now available to pre-order. The model uses the new Eagle SRAM Powertrain with a 680W peak power motor and 600 Wh battery. Other features include an AXS Bridge Display, DVO suspension fork and rear shock absorber.
