The heating elements discovered in the front camera kit of the Cybertruck may be a harbinger of things to come to all Tesla vehicles going forward. Tesla has also taken other precautions to keep the parking camera lens clean and unobstructed.

Tesla's full Hardware 4.0 FSD kit has become a reality on the Cybertruck, with a complete high-res camera set, including an exclusive 5MP sensor and lens combo in the front bumper. The Tesla parts catalog that revealed how it pressurizes the 123 kWh battery against water ingress in Wade mode, has now tipped interesting details about the front camera, too.

While the presence of a dedicated self-washing system specifically for the front camera has been known from videos that show it in action on the Cybertruck, the Tesla parts catalog now reveals that its bumper camera also has a heating element. Tesla has thus taken care to ensure clean lenses in all driving conditions, from mud to frost, something that off-roaders and those living in colder climates alike would certainly appreciate.

From the parts catalog naming scheme it seems that the front camera set, as well as many other innovative features that make a cameo on the Cybertruck, may become standard to Tesla vehicles going forward.

In that sense, the Cybertruck's technology could very well be a harbinger of things to come to all Tesla cars in the future, despite that the front cam is only being used for parking assistance, rather than FSD tasks, as if to compensate for the lack of ultrasonic sensors in the Cybertruck's bumpers.

As to how would one run the front camera washer manually, it has a small activation icon in the section that displays what the camera sees in real time on the Cybertruck's big central console display that Tesla has turned into the central interface hub for interaction with its first electric pickup.
