Linux on DeX will allow users to load a full desktop Linux environment within an app container on their Android phone. After connecting their phone to an external monitor, users will be able to enjoy a full desktop Linux experience, all running off their Samsung Galaxy device.

A new leak detailing Xiaomi's plans for the release of Android Pie has surfaced. According to the sources, devices like the Mi Mix 2 and Mi 8 phones are all set to receive the Pie update before the year runs out, while offerings like the Mi Note 3 will have to wait till Q3 2019 next year.

Huawei will begin sending out the stable Android Pie update to its current-gen flagships tomorrow. The update comes in the guise of an EMUI 9.0 update, the same software on the newly launched Mate 20 phones.

Korean media outlet ETNews reports that the Exynos 9820 SoC will feature two neural processing units (NPUs) for aiding in AI and deep learning operations. The Exynos 9820 is a 7 nm part made using the new EUV process and is expected to power the next generation of Galaxy phones including the Galaxy S10.

Aside from the flagship Snapdragon 8150, Qualcomm is also working on two mid-range SoCs — the Snapdragon 6150 and Snapdragon 7150. All that is known so far is that these are octa-core SoCs and are based on the updated 'Kryo' cores. Further details of the chips and probable launch dates are still elusive.

Powered by an unspecified processor — most likely a low-end MediaTek chip — the 10.1-inch NOOK Tablet 10.1 comes with 32 GB of internal storage space and promises more than 8 hours of autonomy. Those interested will find this US$129.99 slate in Barnes & Noble stores starting on Wednesday, November 14.

Some Huawei Mate 20 Pro owners have been complaining about the display of their brand-new flagship device. A green hue has been seen on faulty handsets, to the extent that it becomes quite visible under certain conditions. The cause of the verdant tint has yet to be fully explained; affected consumers have been offered replacements in some countries.

The Taiwanese company would supply big names like Apple with standalone chips, while Chinese phone-makers would benefit from 5G-enabled mid-range SoCs that will help reduce the integration costs.

Latest Geekbench results suggest that the A12X Bionic SoC is closer than ever to Intel's top mobility CPUs. The single-core scores are pretty tight, however, the gap in multi-core mode is more noticeable. Still the A12 only lags behind by around 3,000 points, which means upcoming mobile chips from Apple could finally match Intel's solutions in 1-2 years.

This year's luxury clamshell smartphone from Samsung is getting a Snapdragon 845 SoC and improved dual 4.2-inch AMOLED touchscreens, but it looks like the overall aspect of the model has become bulkier. Unfortunately, the clamshell lineup is still limited to the Chinese market, and, since this is a premium device, MSRPs will be set to at least US$2,500.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710-powered Lenovo Z5 Pro comes with a generous 6.39-inch display, 6 GB of memory, and a 16 MP + 24 MP main camera setup. With a slider design similar to the one used by the recently released Mi Mix 3, the Z5 Pro starts below the US$300 threshold (the variant with 64 GB internal storage).
