Verdict
Lenovo's LOQ series is generally a safe bet. Its laptops combine a solid chassis with good input devices, a generous selection of ports and a serviceable display. Anyone looking for a particularly eye-catching gaming laptop will find plenty to like in our test configuration. Its bold colour scheme sets it well apart from the competition and gives the 15-inch model a distinctive identity. Lenovo even includes a matching green mouse. Under the hood, the two RAM slots and dual M.2 slots are particular highlights, with one of the latter still available for future upgrades. The capable dual-fan cooling system also allows the hardware to stretch its legs. As a result, the GeForce RTX 5060 performs slightly faster here than in many comparable devices. Sound quality and battery life, however, remain firmly mid-table. Overall, Lenovo's colourful gaming machine earns a good rating of 81%.
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The grey Lenovo LOQ 15AHP11 is currently available from several European online retailers, including Galaxus, with prices starting at around €1,500. This is roughly equivalent to £1,300 or US$1,750, although local pricing, taxes and availability may vary by region.
Specifications
Chassis, features and input devices
The plastic chassis is more than rigid enough, and the hinges stand out with a 180° opening angle. There's also nothing to complain about when it comes to build quality. Weighing 2.2 kg, the new model is slightly lighter than its predecessor, which is essentially very similar in design but has various differences in the details (e.g., ports and hinge design), though it is heavier than, for example, the XMG Core 15 and the Legion 5 15, which weigh just 1.9 kg. In addition to an RJ45 port, an HDMI 2.1 output, and an audio jack, there are a total of four USB ports, one of which is a Type-C port supporting USB 4, including DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery at 100 W. Unfortunately, there is no card reader on board.
The built-in Wi-Fi 6 module from Realtek achieves only mediocre performance; there is still significant room for improvement here. The webcam, which features a shutter on the side of the chassis, offers sharper resolution than most competitors. The chassis can be opened by removing 10 Phillips-head screws. When it comes to input devices, buyers can expect the typical Lenovo quality, which definitely looks and feels great. Both the keyboard and the touchpad give us little cause for complaint. We particularly liked the layout and the generously sized arrow keys.

Display
While some gaming laptops, especially lower-priced models, fall short when it comes to the display, or more specifically, colour reproduction, Lenovo does not cut any corners here. Although the LOQ 15 does not cover the AdobeRGB or DCI-P3 colour spaces, full sRGB coverage will be more than enough for the vast majority of buyers. We measured an average brightness of 277 cd/m², which is neither bad nor particularly good. The same applies to the contrast ratio of around 970:1. Thanks to the pre-calibration, the colours on the 165-Hz panel look quite natural, and the viewing angles are on par with typical IPS standards. Lenovo has opted for a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, using a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Performance
In terms of performance, the LOQ 15AHP11 we tested falls into the mid-range category. While 16 GB of RAM will still be acceptable in 2026, 512 GB of SSD storage isn't exactly generous.

Processor Performance
Lenovo uses the popular Ryzen 7 250 from AMD. The eight-core model, based on the Zen 4 architecture, can handle up to 16 threads simultaneously and features the Radeon 780M. In CPU benchmarks, the 4-nm chip performed as expected, although its predecessor was a tad faster here despite having identical hardware, and the Ryzen 7 260 and AI 7 350 and the Core 7 250H are more than 10% ahead, though in practice you're unlikely to notice this very often.

System and storage performance
Overall system performance is very similar to that of the previous LOQ model. Unfortunately, after prolonged use, the NVMe SSD once again exhibits performance throttling under sustained load.

GPU and gaming performance
The GeForce RTX 5060 is one of the more compelling GPUs in NVIDIA's Blackwell generation, even though 8 GB of VRAM isn't exactly impressive these days. Thanks to its generous TGP, the LOQ 15 performs quite well in Performance mode compared with competing devices and even takes first place in the 3DMark tests. In everyday gaming, the performance is also impressive, as our benchmarks show. In Full HD, almost all games run very smoothly even at maximum settings, so you rarely need to resort to DLSS or Frame Generation. In our long-term test with Cyberpunk 2077, the frame rate was also pleasingly stable.

Noise emissions
Unlike the previous review unit, which suffered from what appeared to be an idle bug resulting in unusually high noise levels and power consumption at idle, the new model shows no such issues. Even so, the LOQ 15 remains louder than many competing laptops under light workloads and, in Performance mode, still ramps up its fans more often than necessary.

Power consumption and battery life
The LOQ 15 is very efficient at idle, averaging just under 7 W, although consumption climbs to almost 200 W under extreme load. The included 245 W power adapter is therefore more than adequately rated. The 60 Wh battery offers a respectable capacity and delivers usable runtimes for this 15-inch laptop. In our Wi-Fi test, the LOQ 15 managed around seven hours of web browsing. The Legion 5 and XMG Core 15 last longer thanks to their larger batteries.
