Verdict
The Erazer Deputy 15 P1 left a positive impression in the test. While some other RTX 5060 gaming laptops, such as the recently tested MSI Cyborg 15, suffer from a low TGP, the Blackwell chip is able to deliver solid performance here, even though there is still room for improvement compared with Lenovo’s competitors (e.g., the LOQ 15 and the Legion 5 15). The installed Core 7 250H is not a flagship model either, but it still performs convincingly when compared with rivals in the sub-€1,500 price range. The fairly sturdy chassis, combined with good input devices and a decent selection of ports, further enhances its appeal.
The display quality, however, is somewhat weak. The 144 Hz IPS panel in particular offers only a limited color gamut. Some competitors, such as the XMG Core 15 M25, perform better in this regard. The 15-inch laptop also struggles somewhat in terms of sound quality and noise levels. Overall, the Deputy 15 P1 cannot claim the title of "best RTX 5060 gaming laptop."
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The tested Medion Erazer Deputy 15 P1 MD62761, equipped with a Core 7 250H and GeForce RTX 5060, is available for just under €1,300 (approx. $1,531) from various online retailers (e.g. CoolBlue).
Translator’s note: Medion laptops are not officially sold in North America.
Specifications
Case
Like XMG, Medion also relies on barebones and chassis from Tongfang and Clevo, respectively. The Erazer Deputy 15 P1 is based on the latter and weighs around 2.2 kg, placing it roughly in the middle of competing models at 1.9–2.4 kg. While the lid is made of metal, the fairly sturdy base unit is plastic. There is nothing to criticize about the build quality, although the maximum opening angle of only 130° could be better.
Equipment
Aside from the absence of USB 4/Thunderbolt support and a card reader, the connectivity is more than solid. The 15-inch model features three USB-A ports, one Type-C port, an audio jack, an RJ45 port, and a Kensington lock slot. External displays can be connected directly via HDMI or Mini DisplayPort. The Intel wireless module (AX211) performs well to very well, whereas the webcam’s image sharpness is poor. The bottom panel can be removed after loosening 13 Phillips screws. As shown in the photos below, the Deputy 15 P1 offers two RAM slots and two SSD slots, which deserves praise.

Input devices
By rubber-dome standards, the keyboard makes a relatively good impression. Key travel is more than decent, although the feedback could be slightly firmer for our taste. We particularly liked the layout, which other manufacturers could take as an example. The arrow keys are adequately sized, and almost the entire width of the notebook is utilized. The touchpad, measuring around 12.1 × 7.3 cm, generally offers good precision and acceptable gliding properties. However, as with many laptops, the clicks sound somewhat rattly.
Display
The mediocre image quality costs the Deputy 15 P1 a few rating points. Unlike some competitors that fully cover sRGB, the Medion model reaches only around 58% sRGB, which is rather modest. The manufacturer could also improve brightness. While an average of 314 cd/m² is sufficient for most indoor environments, higher brightness would be desirable for outdoor use at the latest. However, the Full HD panel performs quite well in the remaining areas. The relatively low black level of 0.2 cd/m² for an IPS panel results in a respectable contrast ratio of over 1,600:1. Response times are also acceptable.

Performance
The Deputy 15 P1 is comfortable not only in terms of price, but also in terms of performance in the lower mid-range. The 2×8 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and the 1 TB SSD in our test configuration are still respectable in 2026.

Processor
Intel’s Core 7 250H appears for the first time in the Deputy 15 P1. The 10 nm processor from the Raptor Lake generation is no longer entirely up to date, but thanks to its six performance cores and eight efficiency cores, it still delivers a solid level of performance. After a cold start, the Core 7 250H initially pulls ahead of the competing devices, but performance settles after a while at the level of a Ryzen 7 260 or Ryzen AI 7 350 .

The storage’s consistent performance deserves praise. Many other competitors showed sometimes severe SSD throttling in our loop test, which points to suboptimal cooling.

GPU performance
Although the GeForce RTX 5060 in the Deputy 15 P1 is rated for up to 115 watts on paper, we were able to draw only around 80 watts from the Blackwell chip even in gaming mode. As a result, its GPU performance in the 3DMark tests sits roughly at the RTX 5060 average measured so far, without pulling ahead the way some competitors do.

Gaming performance
The gaming benchmarks show the typical picture for an RTX 5060. As long as you stick to 1,920 × 1,080, most games run smoothly even at (very) high settings. If frame rates get tight, features such as upscaling can help. For example, with DLSS Balanced (Transformer), we increased Black Ops 7 from 36 fps to 55 fps (Ultra preset with full ray tracing). With 4× frame generation enabled on top of that, it even reached 161 fps, although the subjective experience can vary from user to user.

Notebookcheck overall rating
The Erazer Deputy 15 P1 proves to be a good gaming notebook, but a few weaknesses (display color gamut, speaker quality, etc.) make it somewhat harder to compete with rivals - some of which offer more for under €1,500 (approx. $1,765).
