The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X has finally made its Geekbench debut with a single-core score of 2,217 and a multi-core score of 24,396. Its main competitor, the Intel Core i9-13900K scored 2,169 and 24,189 in the same test.

AMD has finally lifted the covers off its Ryzen 7000 lineup, which includes the Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, Ryzen 7 7700X and Ryzen 5 7600X. They outperform Alder Lake's best, the Core i9-12900K in gaming and offer remarkable upgrades over Zen 3. The processors will be purchasable on September 27 starting at U$299.

Just hours before launch, a new leak indicates that the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor can offer the highest boost on the TSMC N5 node at 5.85 GHz. This would mean stiff competition between the AMD top dog and the Intel Core i9-13900K/KF, which is pegged to offer a 5.8 GHz boost. Cinebench R23 numbers for AMD's upcoming Raphael Zen 4 Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 7 7700X have leaked recently. After bringing Ryzen 6000-based APUs to the market earlier this year, AMD is readying another APU based on the aging Zen 2 architecture. Codenamed "Mendocino", the APU is meant for low-end laptops and Chromebooks. It will launch sometime in Q4 2022.
