First live image of the Ryzen 7 7700X breaks cover less than two weeks before the official unveiling
AMD is set to officially announce the Ryzen 7000 “Raphael” processors on August 29. But this hasn’t stopped the leaks from pouring out. Today we have our first real image of a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU thanks to user Cortexa99.
For the uninitiated, the Ryzen 7 7700X is reportedly an 8-core, 16-thread Zen 4 part with a base clock of 4.5 GHz, and a boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz. The CPU has an alleged TDP of 105 W. The Zen 4 processor is rumored to cost US$299, the same as its predecessor.
The newly leaked picture of the Ryzen 7 7700X displays a laser engraved AMD logo, the SKU name, and 100-000000593 OPN code. Based on the text on the CPU, SkyJuice suggests that the chip pictured is a non-retail sample. It may even be a review sample that AMD sent out to the media ahead of the launch.
While the official launch is less than two weeks away, the Zen 4 processors won’t appear on store shelves until September.
