According to a slew of leaked benchmarks, Intel’s 13th gen “Raptor Lake” processors are shaping up to be worthy upgrades over their predecessors. Now, we have a new set of Cinebench R23 test runs showing the performance of the Core i9-13900K in the absence of any power constraints.

Just a few days ago, we reported the alleged performance of the Intel Core i9-13900K in Geekbench and Cinebench R23 where the chip blew the Ryzen 9 5950X out of the water in both single-core and multi-core tests. We now have an even more impressive benchmark showing the full capability of the Core i9-13900K when power is not an issue.

Courtesy of leaker OneRaichu, we have the Cinebench R23 results of the Core i9-13900K running with a default boost clock of 5.8 GHz on “Limited Power” and “Unlimited Power” profiles.

Under the “Limited Power” option, the Core i9-13900K managed to post a single-core score of 2,290 and a multi-core score of 35,693. The chip drew a total of 253 W during this run. That said, the CPU performed even better with the “Unlimited Power” option.

During the second test where OneRaichu enabled the “Unlimited Power” setting, the multi-threaded score came in at 40,616, a 14% improvement over the first test. Single-threaded performance remained almost identical with a score of 2,288. However, this double-digit performance gain came at the cost of a significantly increased power draw of 345 W, a 36% bump over the first test.

While these numbers look good on the surface, things start to become much more exciting when we compare the results to other processors.

Per Wccftech, the Core i9-13900K proved to be an astounding 67% faster in multi-threaded Cinebench R23 than the Ryzen 9 5950X when using the “Unlimited Power” profile. The lead shrank to 48% on the “Limited Power” setting.

All In all, if the latest reports about Intel’s 13th gen “Raptor Lake” flagship chip are true, users can expect a big jump in multi-core performance over the current crop of flagship CPUs. The performance delta will be even bigger for people who don’t care about their electricity bills and will choose to run the processor with the “Unlimited Power” profile.
