With the introduction of the IMG DXT GPUs, Imagination wants to enable ray-traced graphics for all smartphone users, regardless of budget. The updated Photon ray tracing architecture can scale from half a ray acceleration cluster for entry-level mobile SoCs to a 4-cluster design for the premium handhelds.

Ventana is first to offer a RISC-V data center chiplet design that features up to 128 cores clocked at 3.6 GHz. Thanks to its cluster design, the new Veyron V1 processors can also be scaled for automotive, 5G, AI and client applications.

With the release of the P670 and P470 RISC-V processors, SiFive plans to deliver competitive alternatives to legacy technologies for the wearables, smart home and AR/VR markets. The new processors are touted to bring considerable performance boosts over ARM's Cortex cores.

The new Roma laptops with RISC-V technology are powered by an Alibaba T-Head TH1520 quad-core SoC with integrated NPU and Imagination Technologies GPU. Prices start at US$1499 and Alibaba is offering three distinct packages that include additional gifts like wireless controllers, headphones, speakers and smartwatches.

The new E6-A, S7-A and X280-A RISC-V-based processors will be utilized by car component manufacturers like Renesas and Siemens to power safety-critical compute applications along with sensor arrays, AI-assisted driving systems and IC components used by HUDs or electrification pathways.

The two companies have agreed to collaborate on solutions to make RISC-V hardware compatible with the potential software demands of next-gen vehicles, their use of extended-reality, IoT and safety solutions included.

The upcoming High-Performance Spaceflight Computing processors that will power NASA's future space missions are designed around SiFive's 8-core Intelligences X280 SoCs plus 4 more general purpose cores. These processors are said to be 100x faster than the ones powering current spacecraft.
