Next gen Lunar Lake mobile chips with Xe2-LPG graphics will support a new adaptive sharpening filter that can be utilized in gaming as well as non-gaming instances like photos, image viewing and video streaming.

Intel's upcoming Lunar Lake MX processors will come in Core 5 and Core 7 flavors with 4 P-cores and 4 E-cores and up to 8 Xe2-LPG Battlemage graphics cores that can almost match Apple's M2 iGPU performance. The entry-level 8 W SKU will not require active cooling.

Panther Lake is expected to enter production in Q1 2024, and Lunar Lake will most likely launch in Q4 2024 as the successor of Meteor Lake, while Arrow Lake will bring the Core Ultra series to desktops with the new LGA-1851 socket. Future models coming after Meteor Lake should also integrate Intel's own take on 3D-stacked cache to better compete with AMD's X3D processors that currently reign supreme when it comes to gaming.

The Intel Lunar Lake CPUs which are said to debut sometime in 2024/H1 2025 will follow in the footsteps of the Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake chips and pack discreet CPU, GPU, and SoC tiles. Now, new leaks allege that the LNL’s GPU tile features Intel’s next-gen Battlemage graphics with Xe2 cores.

Lunar Lake is being developed in close collaboration with OS makers and laptop OEMs to power thin and light devices featuring all-day battery life and uncompromised 15 W TDP performance.

Intel detailed a few tidbits about its upcoming Meteor Lake, Arrow Lake, and Lunar Lake offerings at Hot Chips 34. The company also showed the architecture of a 6P+8E Meteor Lake part with separate CPU, GPU, I/O, and SoC tiles all packaged together using Foveros 3D packaging technology. Intel Graphics Compiler patches also suggest that Meteor Lake's tGPU may support hardware-accelerated ray tracing.

Intel has published its first CPU roadmap in years, having recently presented Alder Lake-P processors. Apparently, we can expect Intel to deliver four new architectures between now and 2025, starting with Raptor Lake, which has 24 cores and 32 threads.

The latest roadmap is quite in line with the one leaked by Moore's Law Is Dead a few months ago, but also expands the timeline to 2025 and adds a couple of new families, complete with core cluster names, estimated release dates and performance comparisons to future AMD and Apple models.
