Apple A4

The Apple A4 is a SoC for tablets, smartphones and ipods. It contains a single core ARM Cortex-A8 processor clocked at 776 MHz (iPod Touch 4G), 800 MHz (iPhone 4) or 1000 MHz (iPad 1). The Corex-A8 core in it uses performance enhancements by Intrinsity and is called "Hummingbird" (as in some Samsung SoCs). Futhermore, a PowerVR SGX 535 graphics card, PowerVR VXD audio- and videoprocessor, and a integrated memory controller can be found on the chip.
The chip is built in three layers. Two layers of DDR-SDRAM (2x 128 MB) and the SoC itself.
