In recent years, foldables have been all about reducing the thickness of the case. Who doesn't remember the battle between the Honor Magic V5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 for the title of "Thinnest Foldable of 2025"? Priorities may shift in 2026, as the Motorola Razr Fold and the Apple iPhone Fold are entering the fray this year, which appears to have inspired Samsung to create a spin-off of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 under the potential name Galaxy Z Wide Fold.
Honor and Oppo will likely have to get more creative when it comes to upgrades in their 2026 foldables, as early leaks have already suggested. The Oppo Find N6 is currently undergoing its first certification in China and is said to support 80W fast charging, have a larger battery and a new 200 MP main camera, among other things.
Honor Magic V6 with 7,000 mAh battery
The successor to the Honor Magic V5 could be even more impressive, reportedly featuring an even thinner and lighter battery that could exceed the 7,000 mAh capacity limit, as test devices currently suggest. This would give the Magic V6 the largest battery ever seen in a foldable, at least in the Chinese model. It is also expected to feature a new 200 MP camera and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The launch date is announced for after the Chinese New Year, i.e., early March, when both the Oppo Find N6 and the Honor Magic V6 are expected to be unveiled in China. Internationally, both foldables could then be launched around July, probably in time before Samsung and Apple enter the fray with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the first iPhone Fold, respectively
