Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 (SM4850) is an entry-level octa-core SoC and the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. Its eight cores are divided into two clusters. Unlike its predecessor, the SD 4 Gen 5 now only supports LPDDR4X-2133 and no longer supports LPDDR5.
The SoC continues to use the same core configuration as its predecessor, but with higher clock speeds. In addition to two fast Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 features six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operating at a maximum of 2.0 GHz.
In an initial benchmark with the Oppo PYC110, the SoC shows no performance improvement over its predecessors, even though the higher maximum clock speed suggests a better result.
The Adreno 629 graphics unit is new and supports key graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0, and Vulkan 1.1.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 can use the Qualcomm X61 5G modem, which supports download speeds of up to 2.5 Gbit/s (upload: max. 900 Mbit/s). Only Wi-Fi 5 is supported, and Bluetooth 5.1 is no longer cutting-edge either. The dual ISP operates at up to 12 bits and supports a maximum resolution of 108 MPix. Quick Charge 4 is integrated as the fast-charging technology.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is manufactured by TSMC using a 4-nm process.
