Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 has surfaced on Geekbench with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 629 GPU, posting modest performance gains over its predecessor. The chipset appeared in an unannounced Oppo A7 Pro Max running Android 16 with 12 GB of RAM, though Oppo has yet to confirm the device or its specifications.

Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 has made its first appearance on Geekbench, giving an early look at the entry-level chipset's CPU performance. The listing surfaced under the model number "PYC110," which corresponds to the unannounced Oppo A7 Pro Max.

Core configuration

As seen in the Geekbench listing, the tested unit carries the motherboard codename "SM4850," Qualcomm's internal designation for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5. The chip pairs two cores clocked at 2.40 GHz with six cores running at 2.02 GHz, an octa-core layout that points to a straightforward Cortex-A78/A55 split rather than anything more exotic, in keeping with Qualcomm's usual approach for this tier. Graphics duties fall to an Adreno 629 GPU.

Benchmark

In the benchmark, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 posts a single-core score of 976 and a multi-core score of 2,250. That's a modest step up from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, which scores around 930 in single-core and 2,210 in multi-core on Geekbench, an incremental gain rather than a generational leap in raw CPU throughput.

Other specs

The listing also confirms that the tested Oppo A7 Pro Max carries 12 GB of RAM, which is unusual for a budget phone today, and runs Android 16 out of the box. As reported previously, the phone is tipped to pack a 10,000 mAh single-cell battery with 80W wired charging, a 6.78-inch flat OLED display at 1.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a dual rear camera setup pairing a 50 MP main sensor with a 2 MP secondary shooter, alongside a 50 MP selfie camera. Oppo has not yet confirmed the device or any of its specifications.
