Verdict - A showcase for premium laptop hardware
The new ProArt P16 is a stunning laptop and even after using it for more than a week, we are still baffled how thin and light this 16-inch laptop really is without compromising in terms of stability, build quality or features. You get one of the best keyboards, a large haptic trackpad, amazing speakers, excellent connectivity with a fast SD-Express card reader and probably one of the best laptop displays available right now. The tandem OLED screen is very similar to last year's model and once again offers amazing image quality and high brightness values (up to 1600 nits), but this time the PWM frequency is even better than before.
The P16 can utilize the full potential of the new RTX Spark N1X chip and we have already talked about its capabilities in our in-depth analysis. The CPU performance is very good and better compared to Intel as well as AMD (even Strix Halo), while the M5 Pro is much faster. In terms of GPU, you get RTX 5070 levels of performance with the benefit of much more VRAM. And you get the full performance on battery as well. As we have said before, the N1X does not really stand out in any regard, but is simply a good overall package for all workloads (content creation, AI, gaming, general productivity) and the first time you get the advantages of a Blackwell GPU with unified memory. Please also see our detailed analysis for more information about the new N1X chip.
There is not that much to criticize about the P16 as a product. The battery runtime is not that great, you only get a 1080p webcam and Asus only uses PCIe 4.0 SSDs, even though the laptop supports PCIe 5.0. While this is probably caused by storage prices, it feels a bit odd considering the high price, because our review unit with 128 GB RAM retails for an eye-watering amount of $6,999.

Specifications
Case, Connectivity and Input Devices
The 2025 ProArt P16 was already a slim and lightweight laptop, but the new 2026 version is even better. It is very slim at just 13 mm and also very light at 1.79 kg for a powerful 16-inch laptop, which is very noticeable when you use it and compare it with rivals like the MacBook Pro 16 or the latest Surface Book Ultra, for example. Our review unit is the black version, and even though fingerprints are not a huge issue (visible, but easy to clean), you can also get a white chassis. The stability and build quality are excellent and there are no creaking sounds. The lid is also very stable and the hinges are well-adjusted (max. opening angle 135 °). This is one of the best chassis we have used so far, and this also includes the input devices. The keyboard is very comfortable and the large haptic touchpad works very well, even though the integrated dial-pad from previous models is gone. Maintenance options include the two SSD slots, the Wi-Fi module, the fans as well as the battery.
Connectivity is solid with three USB-C 4.0 ports, USB-A, HDMI as well as a fast SD-Express card reader. The Wi-Fi 7 module manages good and stable transfer rates, only the 1080p webcam (no shutter) does not really meet the premium expectations for this device.

Display - 4K Tandem OLED-Panel
The high-end model of the previous ProArt P16 was already available with a 4K tandem OLED screen with 120 Hz, and the 2026 P16 gets a slightly improved version with a higher PWM frequency. The subjective image impression is great, even though the touchscreen layer results in a slightly grainy image on bright contents. However, it is hard to see from a normal viewing distance. Our analysis with the professional CalMAN software reveals very accurate colors both for P3 as well as sRGB and the brightness is even slightly better than before with more than 700 nits (SDR) and up to 1644 nits for HDR contents.

Processor Performance
The ProArt P16 is equipped with the RTX Spark N1X 20-core ARM CPU. It uses 10 performance plus 10 efficiency cores (3 nm) and we already talked about the technical specifications in our RTX Spark analysis, which also includes efficiency data. The CPU performance is very good overall and it clearly beats the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in the previous ProArt P16 and the Panther Lake CPU in the Galaxy Book6 Ultra. It also beats the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (Strix Halo), but Apple's M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are significantly faster. The sustained performance is very good. The following table only uses native CPU benchmarks, but we have also included the usual list of CPU tests further below, which have to be emulated on the ARM system.

System and Storage Devices
System performance is very good and the ProArt P16 is a very responsive system. Compared to Advanced Optimus systems, there is also no delay when the dGPU is activated, which is nice. We did not face any stability issues, which is a good sign for a completely new SoC, but the ARM version of Windows means that there can be compatibility issues with certain apps or accessories. As always, we recommend you check ARM compatibility before your purchase to avoid unpleasant surprises. For AI benchmarks, please see our analysis article of RTX Spark.
In terms of storage, our SKU is equipped with a 2 TB drive from SanDisk, but it is only a PCIe 4.0 drive. Transfer rates are okay and stable, but considering the enormous price, it is surprising that Asus does not use a PCIe 5.0 drive (which is supported). You can expand the storage capacity easily thanks to the second M.2-2280 slot (PCIe 4.0).

GPU and Gaming Performance
The Blackwell GPU has 6144 CUDA cores and the default memory allocation on our review unit is 64 GB VRAM. The raw GPU performance is roughly on par with faster versions of the mobile GeForce RTX 5070, but the gaming performance can be a bit lower due to emulation. Most games do not have a native version (yet) and we also ran into some compatibility issues with titles like F1 25 or Battlefield 6, which simply would not launch. Most of the games we tested, however, worked pretty well, but there can be differences between different titles. Thanks to DLSS and Frame Generation support, most current titles are playable with high details (no performance drop on battery, either), but laptops with powerful dedicated Nvidia GPUs (like the previous ProArt P16 with the RTX 5090) are still superior for gaming. Please see our RTX Spark analysis for additional content creator benchmarks.

System Noise
The fan noise depends a lot on the power mode and we recommend Whisper or Standard for simple workloads, because the fans will often be turned off. In Performance mode, the fans are always running at ~30 dB(A), which actually helps to cover load peaks. If you really stress the system, we measured up to 51 dB(A), so the new P16 is a bit quieter than the previous version. We did not hear any other electronic noises.

Temperature
Surface temperatures are no concern despite the slim chassis. Under maximum load, the device will warm up noticeably and direct skin contact with the bottom rear area might be uncomfortable, but it still stays cooler than last year's ProArt P16.
(±) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 43 °C / 109 F, compared to the average of 36.8 °C / 98 F, ranging from 21 to 71 °C for the class Multimedia.
(-) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 48.6 °C / 119 F, compared to the average of 39.1 °C / 102 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 27.1 °C / 81 F, compared to the device average of 31.3 °C / 88 F.
(±) 3: The average temperature for the upper side is 34.4 °C / 94 F, compared to the average of 31.3 °C / 88 F for the class Multimedia.
(+) The palmrests and touchpad are cooler than skin temperature with a maximum of 28 °C / 82.4 F and are therefore cool to the touch.
(±) The average temperature of the palmrest area of similar devices was 28.7 °C / 83.7 F (+0.7 °C / 1.3 F).

Power Consumption and Battery Life
The new P16 is pretty efficient and consumes less power under load compared to the old P16 (RTX 5070) despite similar or better performance figures. The maximum consumption was 146.8 Watts, which quickly leveled off at 130/135 Watts. The battery is not discharged, so the 140W adapter is sufficient.
The battery runtime is affected by the high-resolution screen and our Wi-Fi test at 150 nits only runs for ~9.5 hours (~5 hours at maximum brightness).
