The Asus ProArt P16 is a slim and high-quality laptop for creative users and basically uses the chassis from the ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop. We have already reviewed the 2025 version of the ProArt P16 and the overall package with the 120 Hz OLED (but only 2.8K resolution), the excellent chassis quality as well as the RTX 5070 Laptop GPU was not bad, but we would have liked to see faster GPU options.
Asus heard our criticism and now offers a second version with an improved vapor chamber cooling solution and therefore follows the footsteps of the Zephyrus G16. As a result, the chassis is slightly thicker and it is slightly heavier, but the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 can now be combined with the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop (24 GB VRAM), which is a big advantage for picture/video editing. The maximum TGP is 120 Watts according to Asus and we are already eager to see the performance compared to the ROG Zephyrus G16. The maximum amount of memory is 64 GB.
In addition to the more powerful GPU options, the ProArt P16 also gets a new Lumina Pro OLED. It is a tandem OLED panel with significantly increased brightness levels. We cannot share our measurements at this point, but you can clearly see the difference compared to the Zephyrus G16 (where especially the HDR brightness is a weak spot) with the naked eye. The two following pictures illustrate the difference pretty well. The panel also supports the 4K resolution, which once again helps with picture/video editing.
All in all, our initial impressions of the more powerful ProArt P16 are very promising and considering the combination of a much faster GPU (with more VRAM) and the new 4K tandem OLED panel with much higher brightness levels, this might be the ultimate creator laptop, because the P16 already offers a good amount of ports, very good speakers and excellent input devices. However, it might also be a big rival for the ROG Zephyrus G16, which will most likely fall behind in terms of display quality. We are also eager to see which of the two processors (Core Ultra 9 285H or Ryzen AI 9 HX 370) work better with the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and how the new ProArt P16 performs compared to the Apple MacBook Pro 16 with M4 Pro and M4 Max.
We will test the new ProArt P16 comprehensively over the next couple of weeks until we can publish our review in October. Until then, please see our review of the ProArt P16 with the RTX 5070 Laptop for more information. If you have questions or suggestions for our upcoming review, please feel free to leave a comment. We appreciate the feedback.
