I like the ProArt P16, a lot. It’s fast, reasonably well-built, and has a drop-dead gorgeous OLED display. Probably the only other Windows laptop I’ve reviewed that comes close is the Yoga Pro 9i 16, and I would be hard-pressed to choose between these two given their overall value and performance. At the very least, I will say that the ProArt P16’s OLED display is better than the Lenovo’s mini-LED panel. The MacBook Pro 16 can be configured to be a lot faster, and it’s better built. But you’ll have to spend considerably more to get a better laptop than the ProArt 16. For Windows creators, the ProArt 16 is very easy to recommend. And the new AMD Ryzen AI 9 is a very fast chipset that competes well against the best that Intel has to offer.

The ASUS ProArt P16 and PX13 are two fresh creator laptops designed for photo and video editing, design, etc with AMD Strix Point performance. These 2024 notebooks boast impressive professional OLED displays, well thought-out usability and hopefully plenty of power and long battery life. Benchmarking etc coming soon with a full review of the ASUS ProArt P16 and ProArt PX13 hopefully!

With the ProArt P16, Asus has released a powerful 16-inch laptop that combines the new AMD Zen 5 processor with the dedicated GeForce RTX 4070 laptop and 64 GB of RAM, however, its high-resolution 4K OLED touchscreen only offers a frequency of 60 Hz.

While I could sum up this review in six words – like the PX13 opposite, only bigger – that doesn’t do the ProArt P16 justice. Yes, it shares many of the same design hallmarks and specs as its little brother, but this 16in laptop can justly be called a graphics workstation. The bigger chassis means more room for fans and cooling systems than the PX13, and the CPU benefits from a maximum thermal design power (TDP) of 70W rather than 65W. Asus evidently can’t make room for a GeForce RTX 4080 within this still-slender chassis, instead sticking to the RTX 4070 found in the top-end PX13. What you do get, if you select the 2TB model, is 64GB of RAM; the 1TB/32GB version costs £2,600 inc VAT.

ASUS ProArt P16 has managed to combine a lot of good things from different model lines. It's a beautiful and stylish laptop with a gaming platform that delivers excellent performance for serious work. The 4K OLED display should satisfy even the most demanding users, and it supports touch and stylus control. There are also all the necessary ports, excellent sound, good manipulators, and even an additional controller for more convenient control of individual functions. And all of this is capable of working for a good while without a connected power supply. But keep in mind that this is a very expensive laptop, and if you give up the 4K touchscreen display, half the RAM, and a separate controller, you can get almost the same ROG laptop for less money and a 240Hz refresh rate.

We fell in love with the looks of this ProArt laptop. The Nano Black color, the subtle details, the minimalist design. And of course, let’s not forget the mind-blowing colors of the 16-inch OLED panel, accompanied by the 6-speaker Harman/Kardon setup. But its beauty is not only on the outside. It’s definitely not what you imagine when you hear “workstation”, but the ProArt P16 sports plenty of power under the hood. It features the latest and greatest from AMD Ryzen, up to an RTX 4070, and 64GB of RAM. All that is protected by a unibody construction, solid enough to meet 810H military standards. The ASUS ProArt P16 (H7606) display features a touchscreen panel with excellent detail, comfortable viewing angles, outstanding pixel response time, infinite contrast, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

The Asus ProArt P16 is a 4K OLED masterpiece of a laptop with immense horsepower to crush any intense creative task you throw at it. That AMD Ryzen AI 9/RTX 4070 combination soars in our performance testing, while offering a surprisingly long battery life. The Asus ProArt P16 is a laptop with a specific audience—creative professionals and prosumers—and it hits the target. The ProArt P16 has many features this demographic will crave including a wide range of connectivity, a spectacular 4K OLED display, a large touchpad with virtual scroll wheel, and good battery life. Performance is a bit compromised, though, and prevents the ProArt P16 from obtaining a higher score. Make no mistake: it’s still a quick laptop and likely more than adequate for the needs of most people it targets. However, it’s clear that Intel-powered competitors can deliver better multithreaded performance. And while the Nvidia RTX 4070 performs well, gaming laptops will often provide the same level of performance at a lower price. But that also demonstrates why the ProArt P16 works for its audience. It’s not the quickest 16-inch laptop, but it does a good job of balancing speed with portability, weight, size, and price—a recipe that makes it a solid choice.
