Pros
Cons
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 GU606AX is a high-end 2026 gaming laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor. Its Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and 64 GB of DDR5 memory deliver strong gaming and creative performance. The 16-inch OLED display offers a 2560 x 1600 resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate. Despite its powerful hardware, the laptop remains relatively portable at 1.95 kg and 17.9 mm thick. Reviewers praise its performance, display quality, connectivity, and versatile operating profiles. However, its exceptionally high price is difficult to justify when cheaper configurations provide similar performance.

Look, there are cheaper versions of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 available, with available storage being the major factor. We just happened to test the monster version. This performance is possible at around R75,000, if you’re trying to justify your ‘budget’. Only one of those is likely to turn the heads of folks who know what you’re travelling in. The GU606AX version of Asus’ G16 is… pretty much the same thing, without the bespoke leather seats. Whether you should be paying Asus’ listed asking price is another matter. You’ll get close-enough performance for far, far less money, and that makes it incredibly hard to justify.
