The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 GU606 2026 doesn’t seem like a huge update over the previous G16 generations at first glance. However, it is an overall more versatile offer in its premium portable segment of 16-inch all-purpose notebooks. The main selling points adding up to this refresh are the brighter OLED display, the updated cooling module and the versatility of the Intel Panther Lake hardware that offers improved efficiency, which translates in longer runtimes and potentially more comfortable general experience when looking to balance out noise, thermals and capabilities. Too bad 2026 laptop tech is so darn expensive, though.

All in all, while the 2026 Zephyrus G16 might not look like much of an update on a first look, the brighter display and the refreshes in CPU/GPU/RAM/SSD combined make it a notably more powerful notebook than the 2025 generation.

Under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand name, ASUS manufactures gaming laptops known by gamers for their powerful specifications, dedicated graphics cards, high refresh rate displays and advanced cooling systems.
Beyond gaming, a wide range of notebooks are offered for different needs and budgets, from ultra-slim and lightweight ultrabooks to versatile 2-in-1 convertibles and budget-friendly options. In 2023, Asus had a 7% global market share of the PC market.
Customer satisfaction with ASUS notebooks concerns performance, the features, and the good price-performance ratio of ASUS notebooks. However, as with any brand, there are occasional reports of problems such as overheating, driver compatibility, or build quality issues.
