Problems with solid state drives

Category: notebook components
By: Matthias Bauer

Avian Securities presented its study, which says that a big manufacturer produces 20-30% of erroneous solid state drives. The website Direct2Dell confirmed, that this study concerns Dell.

DailyTech reports, that there are problems with SSD’s made by Dell. Those are installed in XPS notebooks, and their error rate is between 20 and 30 percent. This cause complains. DailyTech’s statement bases on a study made by Avian Securities, but Dell is not named in it.

Direct2Dell confirmed, that this study concerns Dell, but they also told that those statements are not true. The reliability of solid state drives is at least as high as from normal hard drives, or better. Certainly, there are complains, but their number complies normal range, and is not as high as Avian told.
