The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i G10 with the RTX 5080 was one of the fastest and best gaming laptops we reviewed last year. This is still the case and the SKU powered by the GeForce RTX 5090 can easily keep up even with larger 18-inch rivals.

No new graphics cards from Nvidia and only a small update for Intel's HX-series mobile processors - new gaming laptops are in a tough spot in 2026. This is not necessarily a bad thing for potential customers though, because models from 2025 are still up to date and you can usually get them with discounts. This is also the case for the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16 G10, one of the fastest laptops with the GeForce RTX 5080 we reviewed last year.

For 2026, we took another look at the faster SKU with the fastest mobile GPU right now, the GeForce RTX 5090 with 24 GB VRAM. This SKU is currently available for around $3800 directly from Lenovo (or $3300 for the RTX 5080, respectively). The GPU once again runs at the maximum TGP of 175 Watts and the combination with the familiar Core Ultra 9 275 HX offers excellent performance figures. The 16-inch system does not have to hide behind larger 18-inch systems like the Legion 9, Alienware 18 Area-51 or Razer's Blade 18, either. And the RTX 5090 also handles Ray Tracing or Path Tracing in the native WQHD resolution without any problems.

The Legion is easily recognizable as a gamer and even if might not be as premium as something like the Razer Blade 16, you do not have to worry about the build quality or stability. Lenovo still implements an excellent keyboard including a large numpad as well as large arrow keys. The 240 Hz OLED screen is also a highlight, because it offers excellent image quality and HDR contents benefit from a peak brightness of more than 1000 nits. There is PWM flickering, but the frequency is very high at 1.4 kHz, so there should not be any issues.

If you want to use the maximum performance, you will obviously hear the fans, but the overall noise levels are still somewhat tolerable even in Performance mode. All in all, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i 16 G10 is still one of the best gaming laptops even one year after its release and considering the lower prices, it is still a very interesting product.
