GTA 6 will be expensive, but will remain well under $100, according to analyst

GTA VI is expected to be released on November 19, 2026, but publisher Take-Two has not yet commented on how expensive the game will be. While customers have speculated with prices of up to $100, Take-Two has so far talked about a reasonable price. As Seeking Alpha reports, Omar Dessouky, a Bank of America analyst, has now commented specifically on the price.
According to him, it would be in Take-Two's interest to see GTA 6 as an opportunity to raise the price level for the entire video game industry. Other developers, on the other hand, are said to be worried that a price increase on their part could be difficult if GTA 6 does not lead the way. For this reason, GTA 6 should at least cost $80, for the "good of the industry". With new games for the PlayStation 5 ($595 on Amazon) currently costing $69.99, GTA 6 would be one of the most expensive games on the market.
Keeping the price of GTA 6 below the $100 mark is likely to be important for the publisher in order to reach as large a market as possible. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick did not want to comment on the price in an interview with Bloomberg, but the manager described the extremely high expectations of fans and investors as "terrifying". If the game does not become one of the most successful titles of all time, it would be a bitter disappointment from an investor's point of view. Some analysts expect over 25 million units to be sold on the first day.
