Insider denies Resident Evil Requiem DLC story expansion will have May release date

The first Resident Evil Requiem DLC could arrive in early May, as a combat-oriented mini-game. However, players are already anticipating the survival horror game’s first story expansion. A report from TrueGaming suggested an "Extraction" title for the new chapter. An insider has now denied the leak but believes that a fan-favorite character will eventually resurface.

On social media, the Arabic-language site shared a discovery, originating from another leaker and a datamine. Followers were particularly skeptical of the May release date. It seemed unlikely that Capcom would debut the content so soon after the free DLC. Sure enough, there is reason to doubt the timing.

Dusk Golem, who has correctly predicted several RE events, thinks that the rumor is nonsense. He previously indicated that the development of the expansion was already far along. Still, it likely wouldn’t appear until later in 2026.

Is Ada Wong destined for a Resident Evil Requiem DLC?

The insider didn’t dismiss the entire TrueGaming revelation, noting how Ada Wong is likely to return. If she does come back, the Extraction theme may not be far-fetched. The spy debuted in Resident Evil 2, tasked with stealing a G-virus sample from a Raccoon City lab.

Leon Kennedy, also expected to star in the Resident Evil Requiem DLC, met Wong in the same game. That relationship would evolve in RE4 and RE6,  but many fans have asked to see them reappear as a duo.

As for potential adversaries, Umbrella Corporation mercenary Hunk is a popular guess. The ruthless operative had the familiar goal of extracting a virus sample in RE2. Barely surviving the outbreak, The Commander boss in RE9 bears a strong resemblance to the antagonist.

Capcom has confirmed the game’s narrative will expand, but has provided few other details. Prior Dusk Golem leaks hinted that the narrative of Grace Ashcroft’s mother isn’t yet complete. He believes that Resident Evil Requiem story expansions will feature Alyssa as a playable character.
