Lenovo releases cheaper 14-inch laptops globally with 120 Hz OLED displays
Just over a month has passed since Lenovo updated the Yoga Slim 7x to Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 platform. As we discussed at the time, the Yoga Slim 7x (14Q8Y11) did not reach the US for $949.99 as Lenovo promised during CES 2026 in January.
Instead, Lenovo charged at least $1,739.99 for the new Yoga Slim 7x. Mainly, this was because the laptop was available exclusively in one of its most expensive configurations that combined the Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 and 32 GB of RAM. Thankfully, that is no longer the case. Unfortunately, the price of this X2E-88-100 and 32 GB RAM has now increased by 9% to $1,899.
At the same time, the Yoga Slim 7x (14Q8Y11) now starts at $1,099 as a pre-configured unit with the Snapdragon X2 Plus X2P-42-100, 16 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and a 1200p OLED display. Alternatively, one can configure the Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-80-100 for a $160 surcharge, which is the closest successor to the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 model we reviewed in August 2024 (curr. $939 on Amazon).
For reference, Lenovo includes a 70 Wh battery with all Snapdragon X2 processors. Also, one can configure these cheaper Snapdragon X2 Plus and Snapdragon X2 Elite processors with 32 GB of LPDDR5X-9523 RAM, 2 TB of M.2 2242 storage and a 2.8K OLED display that also offers a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,100 nits peak brightness. The same is true in Australia, Canada, the UK and the Eurozone too, where the Yoga Slim 7x (14Q8Y11) now starts at AUD 2,049, CAD 1,649, £1,050 and €1,250-€1,649.
