Dell releases new 14-inch laptop with up to 64 GB RAM and 120 Hz VRR displays

Dell has now released the Pro 7 Series 14 (P714260) after unveiling it in late March. According to the company, the Pro 7 Series 14 weighs around 1.27 kg with an optional lightweight magnesium bottom cover. In other words, the new laptop only weighs about 40 g more than the MacBook Air 13, despite featuring a 14-inch and 16:10 display that is similar in size to the one inside the MacBook Pro 14 (curr. $1,541 on Amazon).
Unfortunately, Pro 7 Series 14 lacks Core Ultra X processors and user-upgradeable RAM like the similar Pro 5 Series 14 (P514260). Instead, Dell offers the Pro 7 Series 14 with up to the Core Ultra 7 366H and 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 8,533 MT/s running in dual-channel mode. For reference, the 14-inch Pro 7 can be configured with 55.8 Wh or 70 Wh batteries, unlike its 13.3-inch counterpart.
Also, the Pro 7 Series 14 can be configured with 1200p IPS, 1200p OLED and 1600p (2.5K) IPS panels. Please note that this sole OLED panel peaks at a mere 300 nits and is restricted to a 60 Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, there are two 120 Hz VRR IPS options, which are also the only options that deliver 500 nits peak brightness.
The Pro 7 Series 14 starts at $2,404 in the US, £2,256 in the UK and CAD 3,641 in Canada. By contrast, the same laptop has reached the Eurozone with starting prices varying between €2,533 and €2,652. Australian citizens must call Dell to enquire about pricing and availability. Please see Dell's website for more details.
