Against ThinkPad T14s and X13: Dell reanimates thinnest Dell Pro laptop series

In 2025, Dell decided to radically simplify their lineup, forgoing almost all their sub-brands and just concentrating on the name Dell. A move that was not well received. In 2026, Dell is almost completely reversing course, with Dell Precision and Dell XPS returning as names.
And while Dell Latitude stays dead (for now), Dell is also changing their mind about the complexity of the commercial lineup. Last year, Dell only had Dell Pro (Basic), Dell Pro Plus and Dell Pro Premium - this tiering in budget, midrange and premium did not fully cover the market. This is why Dell is expanding the line in 2026: Basic becomes the Dell Pro 3, midrange the Dell Pro 5 and Premium stays Premium - but there is a new addition, the Dell Pro 7, between Premium and mid-range.
Of course, Dell had this line already, in form of the Dell Latitude 7000. These new Dell Pro 7 13 and Dell Pro 7 14 laptops and their 2-in-1 convertible variants are clearly the spiritual successor of that series. They are actually the thinnest Dell Pro models for business, though not the lightest as the Dell Pro Premium still holds that title. Compared to that magnesium clad model, the Dell Pro 7 laptops use aluminum chassis, and they cut down on some of the more premium design features, such as the lattice-free keyboard.
Last year, Dell almost conceded the market to its competitors by not covering all segments - this year, with the Dell Pro 7, which will go head to head with machines like the ThinkPad X13 and ThinkPad T14s, it looks like Dell is more ready for a fight.
The Dell Pro 7 laptops will arrive on the market in April, with both AMD and Intel options. Pricing was not yet announced.
