Dell releases new 13-inch lightweight laptop with 64 GB RAM and Intel Panther Lake

Dell has expanded its compact laptop portfolio with the Pro 7 Series 13. Marketed as the 'thinnest Dell Pro laptop' released so far, the Pro 7 Series 13 comes in at 10.7 mm at its thinnest point while weighing less than a MacBook Air 13 (curr. $949 on Amazon).
Specifically, Dell states that its new 13-inch laptop starts at 1.19 kg. At this stage, it is unclear whether this weight relates to the laptop's all-aluminium design or its optional variant with a lightweight magnesium bottom cover. Setting that aside, the Pro 7 Series 13 can be configured with the following processor Intel options.
- Core Ultra 5 325
- Core Ultra 5 335 vPro
- Core Ultra 5 336H vPro
- Core Ultra 7 365 vPro
- Core Ultra 7 366H vPro
All members of the Panther Lake family, these five processors feature Intel's comparatively weak Graphics 4 Xe3 iGPU. Also, Dell offers the laptop with 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM running in dual-channel mode, as well as a choice between 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB of storage with optional PCIe Gen 5 drives too. All SKUs ship with a 55.8 Wh battery, though.
Moreover, Dell sells six display options. Unfortunately, all are 1200p and 60 Hz IPS options. Although some deliver 500 nits peak brightness and 100% sRGB colour space coverage, two of Dell's cheapest options peak at 400 nits and at 62.5% sRGB coverage.
The Dell Pro 7 Series 13 (P713260) is available across Australia, Canada, the Eurozone, the UK and the US. Currently, a pre-built unit costs $2,835 in the US; slightly cheaper variants can be found in Dell's configurator, though. Selecting hardware like a Core Ultra 7 366H, 64 GB of RAM, a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD and Dell's most expensive display option sees the Pro 7 Series 13 costing over $6,000.
