Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 out now

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8, titled New: Eridan Sunset, is live today on mobile, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The update marks the final chapter of Season 2 and introduces two new S-Rank agents alongside the official confirmation that the game is coming to Steam.
HoYoverse announced the Steam version during the 2.8 special program livestream. The store page is already live, and players can add the game to their Wishlist now. A Wishlist Milestone Event ties the announcement to in-game rewards: as the Wishlist count hits set milestones, all participating players receive Polychromes and other items.
The Steam version carries a Q2 2026 window, placing it around the Version 3.0 update in June. It will be only the second HoYoverse title to reach Steam, after Honkai Impact 3rd in October 2021. Progress and purchases carry over since players use their existing HoYoverse account.
What Version 2.8 adds
The story picks up with multiple factions in the Outer Ring pursuing a mysterious figure named Ramiel. Promeia, the executioner of Krampus, joins as an intelligence contact alongside Starlight Billy and Cissia to uncover what Ramiel is planning. The arc wraps up the New Eridu storyline that has run through the second half of Season 2.
Two new S-Rank agents arrive across the two phases of 2.8. Promeia is an Ice Anomaly unit, the first of her element in the Anomaly archetype, and her banner runs from today until May 27 alongside a Lucia rerun. Starlight Billy is a Physical Rupture agent, and a significantly upgraded version of the base Billy character players have had since launch. His banner runs from May 27 to June 16, paired with an Orphie rerun. The update also introduces a new Vortex combat mechanic, a new attribute enemy type, and the Eridan Sunset limited event.
What is coming in Season 3
HoYoverse used the 2.8 livestream to tease an unusually large roster of upcoming agents for Season 3, releasing official drip marketing for multiple characters at once rather than staggering reveals as usual. The reveal has split community attention between pulling for Promeia now and conserving Polychromes for Season 3's lineup, which is shaping up to include a new Wind Anomaly archetype and the first agents from the Void Hunter faction.
Zenless Zone Zero is free to play on iOS, Android, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players on Windows 11 who want a more console-like experience while playing can also check out Xbox mode, which Microsoft rolled out this week via optional update KB5083631 and brings a full-screen, controller-first interface to Windows PCs
