Pokémon TCG Pocket Pulsing Aura expansion adds Mega Lucario ex

Pokémon TCG Pocket has launched its biggest expansion since the game went live. The Pulsing Aura set dropped on April 28, bringing 234 new cards to the digital card game and kicking off a full month of events running through late May. The expansion is available now on iOS and Android.
Pokémon TCG Pocket launched in October 2024 as a streamlined digital version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Players collect cards from booster packs, build decks, and battle other players in real time. The game has generated over $1.6 billion in total player spending since launch, surpassing Pokémon GO's first-year earnings and making it the highest-grossing debut for any Pokémon mobile title to date.
What Pulsing Aura adds
The expansion centres on Mega Evolutions, a mechanic that temporarily powers up a Pokémon during battle. Mega Lucario ex and Mega Sceptile ex are the headline cards, both among the most requested additions by the community since launch. Ten new ex cards arrive in total, alongside two Immersive Rares featuring Sobble and Mega Lucario ex, and two Crown Rares featuring Bombirdier and Celebi. Pulsing Aura also introduces a new rule: knocking out a Mega Evolution card rewards the opponent with 3 points, an instant win in TCG Pocket, which reshapes how these decks are built and played.
Two new support cards define the competitive landscape of this expansion. Korrina is a Supporter card that boosts the damage of all your Pokémon's attacks by 30 against the opponent's Active ex Pokémon for that turn. Arena of Antiquity is a Stadium card that permanently adds 20 damage to attacks used by any Pokémon in play against the opponent's Active ex Pokémon. Stacked together, Mega Lucario ex can hit 190 damage, one of the highest outputs in the current meta. A new gold frame feature also launches with Pulsing Aura, rewarding players who collect 10 copies of the same card with a gold border treatment that applies retroactively to existing collections.
Events running through May
The 1.5 anniversary Special Event is live now through early May. Players complete solo battles to earn promo cards and missions to unlock Mega Zygarde ex, a Legendary not available through standard packs. The Pulsing Aura Emblem Event runs until May 13, rewarding profile emblems and useful items through ranked play. Community Week kicks off May 9 through May 16, offering trading missions where players share and exchange cards to earn Trade Hourglasses and special accessories.
The Mega Heracross ex Drop Event starts May 12 and runs until May 29, giving players the only path to earn B Series Volume 8 promo packs. Ranked Season 13 runs from May 13 to May 27. A B3a-themed mini-expansion is also confirmed for May 28, adding over 100 additional cards to the pool.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.
