Dell's notebook line is extensive and the Inspiron 1545 is designed for to appeal to those that need an everyday applications machine. The Inspiron 1545 belongs to Dell’s ‘15’ line and is designed to ‘give you the everyday features you need, all at a great value’. The 1545 packs the right stuff for everyday usability at an attractive price. Not for gamers however.

The Dell 1545 is one of the most popular laptops of the moment. It's easy to criticise the Inspiron 1545, but for the price it's actually a very competitive machine. If you must use it for gaming, our advice would be to invest in the ATI card at purchase, and then upgrade the hard disk and RAM independently of Dell. That way you'll be able to get a semi-decent gaming laptop for under £450.

The Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook is an affordable all-purpose notebook with a 15.6in widescreen LCD. While it's unlikely to turn heads with its pedestrian style, this Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop remains a perfectly serviceable notebook that punches well above its weight. (We use the term figuratively, as it is far from a petite notebook.) There's nothing spectacular about the Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook - until you take its price into account. With an RRP starting at just £298 inc VAT, it's one of the best-value all purpose notebooks we've tested.

Dell - Inspiron 1545 review

Wherever possible, it's interesting to test the whole process of ordering a laptop from a company, and looking at the before- and after-sales support as well as the machine itself. So that's just what we did with this Dell 1545, a smart, relatively economical machine that opts for trademark Dell efficiency over outright excellence. A professionally manufactured laptop that delivers pretty much what you need for the price being asked. It's no market leader, but it's a very solid performer.

Dell is one of the most popular computer brands worldwide, and a default choice for many shoppers. Located right in the middle of the company's lineup, the Dell Inspiron 15 is one of the most versatile and affordable midrange laptops, offering configurations for as low as $379. As a highly configurable budget-range black box, Dell's Inspiron 1545 laptop line can be a good value--as long as you don't pile on the upgrades.

Dell Inspiron 15 Review

The Dell Inspiron 15 is a decent mid-size budget notebook with good looks and average build quality. The keyboard is very comfortable to type on with excellent support, but has a weird function key layout that may annoy more advanced users. The touchpad offers an excellent surface texture with buttons that have great feedback and throw distance. Basic configurations start as low as $379, making it a reasonable choice if you are working on a budget. Overall it might not be the best notebook on the market, but it still offers great value and a reasonably attractive design.

While predominantly known for its direct-to-consumer custom-built PCs, some of Dell's best deals can be found in fixed-configuration laptops stocked in retail stores. Case in point: the $429 15-inch Dell i1545-012B, which includes a dual-core Intel CPU (but not an official Core 2 Duo), 2GB of RAM, and a decent 160GB hard drive for about the same price as you'd pay for a decently configured Netbook. The Dell Inspiron i1545-012B is one of the better deals you'll find for a mainstream laptop priced less than $500.

The Dell Inspiron 1545 (i1545-USE010ST) ($699.98 list) has very few amenities for a laptop, but it meets two of the most basic laptop requirements: its screen and hard drive are large enough to handle the gamut of multimedia tasks. It's Intel Pentium branded processor lags behind the mainstream Core 2 Duos, so it isn't exactly a speed demon, but you won't hear a peep from frugal shoppers. For many families and school-bound teenagers, there's only room in the budget for a laptop with basic amenities. The Dell Inspiron 1545 (i1545-004ST) meets two of the most basic laptop requirements: Both its screen and hard drive are large enough to handle the gamut of multimedia tasks. It isn't a speed demon by any stretch, as its Intel Pentium-branded processor lags behind the mainstream Intel Core 2 Duos, but you won't hear a peep from frugal shoppers. Available at your local Staples for $650, this whopper of a bargain comes with a nice 15.6-inch widescreen, 320GB of storage space, and 4GB of memory—all of which should be enough to offset the processor's shortcomings. If you can get past its speed limitations, the Dell Inspiron 1545 is one heck of a laptop bargain.

Dell's Inspiron 15 is really a mixed bag when it comes to a budget laptop. On the one hand, it has an excellent 15.6-inch display with an LED backlit that gives it some of the best color in price segment. On the other hand, Dell provides users with less in terms of software, storage and battery life unless they want to upgrade the systems which can quickly escalate the costs. This makes the Inspiron 15 a strong choice for those looking for an inexpensive laptop with a high quality screen but don't necessarily need the highest performance.

So what kind of internals does the 1545 hide under its plain but glossy shell for its bargain price? Well, they're actually a little better than you might expect. The cast is led by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 running at 2.0GHz with an 800MHz front-side bus. This is fast enough to easily handle any software you'd want to use on a notebook like this. As to memory, 3GB of DDR2 RAM is as much as the installed 32-bit version of Windows Vista Premium can handle. In a nutshell: if you're looking for a cheap and simple family laptop with reasonable speakers, the Dell Inspiron 1545 is worth considering. However, appalling battery life really hampers an otherwise solid but unspectacular effort that is inferior to the model it replaces.

Lowrider. Dell models bearing the -z suffix are differentiated from the all-around Inspiron family by being particularly mobile. A thin housing, energy-sipping CPU's and large-capacity batteries should keep even the most demanding users away from the wall outlet.

Whether you're looking for a roomy notebook to use on the commute or a desktop replacement, the 15z has the potential to fit the bill nicely. Dell's Inspiron 1564 budget systems offers a solid laptop for those on a tight budget. Incentives and discounts often drive the price below $600. With the Core i3 processor it provide a very quick computing experience. The downside is that users will have to sacrifice some RAM, hard drive space and wireless features for this lower price. For some this may not matter much but be warned that Dell does not offer the same level of customization on this particular model.

The recurring theme for mainstream laptops, especially if they're Intel based, is the guts from last year are being replaced with new ones this year. Looking at the Dell Inspiron 1564 ($879 direct, E-value code: DNDOV33) seems like déjà vu all over again, since nothing has really changed on the outside. The Dell Inspiron 1564 is a mainstream laptop designed with speed in mind, thus giving battery life the cold shoulder.

I like a lot of Dell's newer laptops, and I had hoped to like the company's newly Core i5-enhanced Inspiron 15 (1564 variant). This model has a lush widescreen and isn't too big, and the glossy shell looks nearly as good as the Apple aesthetic it apes. At about $934 (as of March 9, 2010) when it isn't on sale, the 1564 is a reasonably priced all-purpose laptop with a substantially more than adequate chunk of silicon at its heart.

Dell's targeting the consumer market with the Inspiron 15, and it certainly does have a lot to offer. The Intel Core i5-520M in our review unit may almost be a bit too much for a unit that otherwise seems fairly stripped down, but otherwise the overall build is well-rounded. The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 isn't going to break any speed records, but it serves its purpose.

As a budget laptop, there are no glaring miscues with the Dell Inspiron i1545-4266IBU, but competing models offer more features for the same price, and laptops costing only a little more offer a much more current platform.

The Dell Inspiron i1564-6980CRD is the epitome of a mainstream laptop. It offers no extras, and its component combination is sufficient for everyday office and entertainment duties. The Dell's design is nice and functional, and its ports and connections should be sufficient for most people shopping in this category. For the money, you could do worse; it's essentially a no-frills workhorse. The Dell Inspiron i1564-6980CRD is a good, but basic, laptop.

Dell - Inspiron 15R review

Dell has selected a decent Core i5 specification allied to Radeon HD 5470 graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and a 15.6-inch screen with HD resolution. That's all perfectly acceptable and we were smitten by the good looks of the Inspiron 15R, but the layout left something to be desired and the price was a touch too steep for our taste.

Dell's Inspiron laptops have always been the brand's middle-of-the-road workhorse: equally likely to turn up in a dorm room or coffee shop as at your mom's kitchen table. Dell periodically gives the series a physical makeover, but small differences in fit and finish are almost beside the point; this is still the go-to laptop line for reasonably priced systems that offer mainstream performance at palatable prices.Dell's updated Inspiron line has a slightly revamped design, but more importantly still offers workhorse performance for a minimal investment.

The Inspiron 15R is a product which is entering a hugely competitive market segment with a massive amount of systems available that offer various levels of performance, features and quality. This means that Dell really need to impress from the moment someone sees the system and in our opinion they have succeeded in this area. The 15R looks a level above other midrange laptops thanks to the reflective brushed finish, inside and out.

Dell's Inspiron 15R N5010 is a 15in notebook with an appealing design and a well rounded configuration. Plenty of RAM and hard drive space make the Dell Inspiron 15R N5010 a good option for anyone who wants a notebook that can also be used as a desktop replacement computer. However, its build quality could be better, as we noticed some annoying creaking in its base, and its screen suffered from shimmering when viewed from certain angles.

With the Dell Inspiron 15R-2728MRB, you get good productivity and multimedia performance at a reasonable price. You also get a strong feature set, including all the wireless options you could want, a sizeable hard drive, and a Blu-ray drive. Lackluster graphics and battery performance hold it back, however. If you want a powerful 15-inch desktop replacement laptop with gaming chops, the latest technology, and a longer battery life, the Editors' Choice Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Thunderbolt) is still your best bet, albeit a pricier one.

Dell's lowest cost Inspiron 15 laptop certainly is affordable at $400 and offers a good deal of performance from its Core i3 processor. It also sets itself apart from its competition with small things such as easy to upgrade memory and Bluetooth support. All of this is tempered by the fast that this is an older chassis so it lacks modern features like USB 3.0 or even the customization that Dell offers for its more expensive 15R series.

Inspiring. Ultrabooks have found their way into Dell's Inspiron family. The all-rounders of the past now benefit from lower weight and longer battery life, in addition to the good performance. We examine whether the ultrabook measures up to the broad multimedia class.

The Dell Inspiron 15z is a very good performer in office applications and even gaming. It looks good and has a decent build quality. The large 15.6" screen and the comfortable full-sized keyboard along with the responsive touchpad make it an ideal desktop replacement. Moderate gaming is also possible, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GT630M. However, it is a little too heavy to be considered portable. Also, it doesn't really give you the battery backup to stay away from a charging point for a long duration. The Inspiron 15z is rather expensive at Rs 75,000. In day to day applications, you can also opt for the ASUS S550CM, which is also a good performer, and although it has a slower Core i5, or the Acer Aspire M3 Touch.

The refreshed Inspiron ultrabook range feels a lot better to use. The "budget" build quality of the previous version has given way to a much more premium feel, while keeping the same design. Performance is quite good. But why you would consider the Inspiron 15z as an ultrabook, all models included, will be because you need the bigger display. With this particular model that we have tested, the Core i7 and 8GB RAM offer excellent performance as well. The touchscreen is an added feature, but we aren't sure if you will really need it that often. Consider this, only if you need the most powerful machine, in the ultrabook form factor. Else, the lower spec version of the Inspiron 15z would make a lot more sense.

The flagship version of the Dell Inspiron 15z will set you back Rs 74,990, plus taxes. This makes it quite expensive for an Inspiron, which were originally supposed to be budget-oriented notebooks. The high-end model then really doesn’t make much practical sense since you’ll seldom use the touchscreen. We weren’t very impressed with the build quality either. Overall, the Inspiron 15z is a decent buy if you pick the one that costs around Rs 50,000, but any configuration above that is not worth the premium.

Dell Inspiron 15Z Review (With Nvidia GT630M)
Source: Ultrabook News English Archive.org version
Is the Dell Inspiron 15Z an Ultrabook? From our perspective it’s not very mobile, has relatively short battery life and could do with an SSD but seen from the 15-inch laptop perspective there’s an attractive package here. Only the screen disappoints in that respect and that might not be a problem for those planning to work using an external screen. We truly enjoyed the A/V capabilities of the 15Z – there’s nothing quite as easy as throwing your favorite DVD onto this and kicking back – as long as it’s only you. An IPS screen could have widened, literally, the viewer opportunity.

The Dell Inspiron 15z is a 15.6" ultrabook with a low price tag, starting at £579. But is it worth the money? It's too bad Dell didn't do more for the Inspiron 15z's audio and display, because the only selling points it really has left are connectivity, processing power and battery life, which isn't much for a sector as competitive as the 15.6-inch ultrabook market.

Dell's retooling of their Inspiron 15 may sacrifice a bit of performance but ends up with a platform that is not only very affordable but gives it an advantage over the competition. The system is thinner and lighter than most while including features such as Bluetooth and more USB 3.0 ports. Most buyer's will probably not notice the slight reduction in performance but the glossy exterior that seems to attract fingerprints and smudges is bothersome to frequently clean.

Tough cookie. Outside of the mainstream models 15R and 17R we discovered the basic version of the current Inspiron 15. It presents itself without alu-finish but in bare plastic. Technically speaking, the cost-cutting Inspiron is even a bit better than the polished R sister-models. Roughly trimmed plastic for an overcharged price of 540 Euros (~$720) or a well concealed bargain?

The Dell Inspiron 15z (I15Z-4801SLV) will appeal to mainstream users who need Core i7 multimedia prowess in their day-to-day lives. This might mean the world to a budding Spielberg or Ansel Adams, who will want to work on their latest masterpiece, and then share it via DVD or by displaying it on a HDTV via HDMI. For most mainstream users, however, the Editors' Choice remains the Asus VivoBook S400CA-UH51 as it's a better option for mainstream PC users at a better price point.

The Dell Inspiron15z (I15Z-4801SLV) is a traditional interpretation of an ultrabook laptop. Tipping the scales at the thick and heavy end of the ultrabook specifications, the Dell Inspiron 15z (I15Z-4801SLV) gives you extra features to justify its bulk. It's a good pick for the traditional laptop user who wants a new, fast laptop.

Budget laptops are all about sacrifice, but that doesn’t mean you have to settle for a big, clunky system with a bland design and limited features. The Dell Inspiron 15 (I15RV-6190 BLK) is a relatively thin 15-inch laptop offering Intel Pentium processing power and good battery life for under $400.

With the Dell Inspiron 15 you get a very capable 15-inch laptop at an amazingly low price. Granted, it uses older CPU technology and lacks touch-screen capabilities, but it's not a bare-bones laptop by any means and offers enough horsepower to handle the basics, making it ideal for students and day-to-day home office computing. As such, it earns our Editors' Choice for budget laptops.

Dell Inspiron 15-7537

The Dell Inspiron 15-7537 is designed towards satisfying the increasing demand of thin laptops without compromise on performance. It features a 15.6" screen and is only a little over 2.2 cm thick. With about 2.6 kilograms, it belongs to the bulkier laptops. However, what the Dell lacks in mobility, it makes up for with quality, stability and functionality. The exterior design makes it extremely tough while giving off a sleek and high-end feel. The entirety of the chassis is made from solid aluminum and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

The 15.6" display comes with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The FullHD display has a pixel density of 141 dpi, giving a great graphical experience. Color and contrast are decent as well. The laptop runs on a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Core i7-5400 processor coupled with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage space, making it one of the best in terms of hardware specifications. Thanks to the Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics card, gaming will definitely not be an issue.

The Inspiron 15-7537 is definitely a good laptop. However, the main drawback is its expensive price tag.

Long-lasting all-rounder. An economic Core i7 processor and a dedicated Nvidia GPU topped with a lot of storage and wrapped up in an elegant aluminum casing - this is the recipe for a versatile and high-performance multimedia laptop. But is it enough to justify the ambitious price of almost 1200 Euros (~$1619)?
An all-around excellent multimedia laptop
Source: Techradar English Archive.org version
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is a fine choice for anyone looking to buy an attractive, powerful laptop that's not quite as pricey as a premium Ultrabook. With its quad-core CPU, 16GB of RAM and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics, it can easily handle intensive multimedia tasks, like video editing or playing lighter 3D games. Moreover, the laptop's excellent keyboard and trackpad make doing serious productivity work a breeze.

The Dell Inspiron 15 (7537) is the equivalent of a utility player in baseball. It's solid, and will work well, but it doesn't quite distinguish itself in the crowd. Sure, it plays games better than rivals, but if that's important to you, there are plenty of faster gaming laptops to choose from. With its flashy aluminum exterior, you might expect The Inspiron 15 to stand out on battery life, performance, and weight, but it just doesn't. The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus remains our high-end ultrabook Editors' Choice, due to its QuadHD+ screen, speedier SSD-only configuration, and more stable screen hinge.

The lower-end version of the Inspiron 15 7000 costs about as much as the lower-end Inspiron 14 7000, and the same goes for the higher-end versions of both as well. That leaves us with an interesting set of choices. As far as the lower-end ones go, it's a fairly simple toss-up between portability and drive speed on one hand and connectivity and graphics horsepower on the other. You're saddled with an unfortunate low-res screen either way, so the particular variant that we've tested today comes out looking a bit unappealing.

Featuring solid performance in an even more solid body, the Inspiron 15 is an appealing computer technically. For half the price of a comparable Dell XPS 15, the price tag is much more inviting as well, though it lacks the XPS’s amazing screen and SSD. As a general use machine, the Inspiron 15 would likely be good for college students who need a portable, affordable, and sturdy computer for work, media and some games. Compared to other Ultrabooks on the market, though, the Inspiron 15 doesn’t stand out too much in any particular category beyond value, relegating it to a general use desktop replacement option more than a machine specialized for gaming, graphics work, or other particular tasks.

As we mentioned at the beginning of this review, the Dell Inspiron 15 7537 walks a very fine line between mainstream and high-end system. It costs way too much to not provide a great experience, but it’s also not expensive enough to have all the bells and whistles of a flagship machine. Overall, the Dell Inspiron 15 7537 succeeds – but it’s not going to be a fit for all users.

The new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series will set you back a cool Rs 68,990, which is quite expensive for what’s on offer. We say this, because the HP Envy Touchsmart 15 has the exact same configuration but with more RAM (8GB) and storage (1TB) for Rs 64,000. It’s also quite a bit lighter as well at 2.1kg. The Dell 7000 does make a good case for itself with an excellent build and industrial design, good gaming performance, decent audio and long battery life. However, all of this is moot when you look at the lacklustre display and the non-ergonomic keyboard.

So it seems that corners are obviously being cut in some of the most surprising places, but Dell does have the good grace to provide a year’s subscription to MacAfee LiveSafe, probably to make savings on virus-related tech support calls. However, the version of Microsoft Office shipped with the Inspiron 15 is a mere trial. Not only that, you’ll have to rely on Windows Essentials for any multimedia creation exploits. Even that forged metal casing isn’t all encompassing as the underside is plastic.

It's quite good to see Dell refresh the look and design of the Inspiron range of notebooks, starting with the 7000 series, both for the 14-inch and 15-inch versions. The resemblance to the much more premium XPS range is uncanny, and that is a good thing. It offers stable performance and very good battery life. But, the 15.6-inch display is still stuck at 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, which is a disappointment. But for that one shortcoming, the Inspiron 15 7000 is a very capable machine. We would recommend this for the good build, stable performance, much improved keyboard and very good battery life.

The configuration is based on Intel Haswell platform, i.e. 2.6GHz Core i5-4200U processor belonging to the group of low-power models, which will certainly affect the autonomy. With 6GB of RAM and a separate NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M with 2GB of RAM, good performance is provided, suitable for business and multimedia applications. A classic 5400RPM SATA with 500GB capacity is used, characterized by usual things regarding the space and the speed. Regarding the autonomy, an average time of usage goes up to 8hrs, which is a great result for 15.6" laptops, so it is no surprise it reminds us to an Ultrabook model. Finally, in period March 18 - April 18, you can buy it for RSD69.990 with the option to pay on 12 installments at the Mercator store during the period of PIKA card campaign.
Positive: Excellent workmanship; aluminum case; good performance; great autonomy; favorable price. Negative: Mediocre display.

Dell Inspiron 15-5547

For those on a budget looking for a multimedia laptop that can handle movies and some gaming, the Dell Inspiron 15-5547 might be the device you are looking for. The 15.6-inch screen has a resolution of 1366 x 768, which isn't that great, especially on a 15-inch screen. Things won't look that sharp but being an IPS display means you get great viewing angles and solid colors. There is also an option for a touchscreen version.

The Dell is powered by a 4th generation i5 processor at 1.7 GHz with turbo technology. It's accompanied by 8 GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs.

It has two options for graphics rendering. The Intel HD Graphics 4400 handles undemanding and standard software, while the 2 GB AMD Radeon R7, a dedicated mid-range card, can run older or less extensive games like Diablo 3. Newer, hungrier games will run at lower fps, but they are still playable. However, its standard 5400 rpm hard drive which will damper performance quite a bit.

The Inspiron 15 weighs roughly around 2.38 kg, which is standard for a 15-incher. Thanks to the small screen and the frugal processor and graphics card, battery life is solid. The Dell is a good option for budget-conscious consumers looking for an all-round laptop.

Battery life was a decent 6 hours and 20 minutes, which is shy of all-day battery but still respectable. Overall, the Dell Inspiron 15 5000 is an attractive, well-built laptop that offers a good balance of both application and gaming performance. It’s a great choice for an all-round laptop without breaking the bank and offered excellent performance for a laptop at this price with decent battery life and deserves a Best Buy award.

The Inspiron 5547 is very inexpensive for a laptop with a Core i7 processor and a 15.6-inch display, but it just doesn’t measure up to Dell’s usual quality standards. Its fit and finish are suspect, and it should have more USB ports, a faster Wi-Fi adapter, and gigabit ethernet—even at this price.

Dell's Inspiron 15 5000 is a solid mid-range machine in an attractive aluminum and soft-touch package. The available 1080p touch screen is another plus. However, the machine seems overpriced for what you get. For around $100 more, the Inspiron 15 7000 features discrete graphics and longer battery life in an all-aluminum package.

Here's how Dell can improve the Inspiron 15 5000 Series and make it a more attractive proposition: the Ethernet adapter should really be Gigabit rather than 10/100Mbps, the third USB port should be USB 3.0 rather than USB 2.0, the SD card slot should allow cards to sit all the way inside rather than having them stick out halfway, and the 802.11ac module (a 1x1 Intel Wireless-AC 3160 module that's limited to 433Mbps) should be a faster 2x2 module with 867Mbps capability.

Dell Inspiron 15 3542-2293

The Dell Inspiron 15 3542 is a perfect all-rounder laptop and is easy on the wallet. Dell is known for producing high quality budget laptops and the Dell Inspiron 15 3542 clearly shows it with clean, modern looking chassis. The edges are rounded and the front cover is textured for an elegant look. Even if the chassis is made of black plastic, the Dell Inspiron 3542 feels solid in hand. Display on the laptop is a 15.6 inch 16:9 panel with a glossy finish and sits perfectly between screen real-estate and portability. At the center of the device is an Intel Core i5-4210U processor clocked at 1.7 GHz, 4 GB DDR3L RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 820M GPU and a 500 GB HDD for internal storage. The Dell Inspiron 3542 is fingerprint prone but it can be cleaned equally as easy. Other features include two USB 2.0, a USB 3.0, an HDMI port and a card reader. Even if the Dell Inspiron 15 3542 is categorized as an inexpensive device, it comes with an optical drive and Microsoft Windows 8.1 64 bit OS. Audio quality is decent with the stereo speakers. The dedicated GPU definitely increases the laptop's capability including light gaming. Battery life is decent with a Lithium-Ion cell rated at 2630 mAh.

The Dell Inspiron 15 7537-7697 is a beautifully crafted laptop with superior build quality if users can live with the marginal extra weight. Dell Inspiron 15-3531

The average laptop these days still cost most people an arm and a leg. The Dell Inspiron 15-3531 might just be the right option for those who are looking to buy a great laptop at a reasonable price. The Dell Inspiron 15 comes with a solid aluminum chassis, which is great compared to the plastic chassis that is the more common choice for laptop manufacturers at this price range. It has a common 15.6 inch display, but it only features a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels instead of FHD (1080p). It is only 2.54 cm thick, which is a reasonable size in terms of portability.

In terms of hardware, the Dell Inspiron 15 features a Core i7 dual processor and a Radeon R7 M265 graphics card. Not exactly the best in the market, but having a dedicated graphics card definitely helps. The hardware is definitely adequate for web surfing and word processing, and it runs new games in low to medium graphic settings smoothly, but will have some trouble when it comes to some of the most demanding games. The battery life is also pretty decent and will usually last about 6 hours.

The Dell Inspiron 15 Non-Touch (3531) won't wow you with speedy performance and extra features, but it offers a durable, textured chassis and solid battery life and provides more than enough computing power for browsing the Web, emailing, and other light home-office duties. A higher-resolution screen would be nice, but at this price it's hard to complain, especially since the 1,366-by-768 panel offers good color quality and a sharp 720p image.

Dell Inspiron 15-7548

The Dell Inspiron 15-7548 is an all-round laptop with a slim profile and impressive hardware. A slim laptop does not need to compromise rigidness or performance with the current technology out there. Dell has designed the Dell Inspiron 15-7548 to be solid and elegant with curved edges, a beautiful lid and a two tone color scheme. The interior comes in dark grey while the external surface is a matte metal finish. The 15.6 inch 4K Ultra HD Truelife panel supports 10-point touch input. Colors are accurate and clarity is impressive yet the same can't be said for brightness. The Windows 8.1 system comes with an Intel Core i7-5500U processor, 16 GB DDR3L RAM, an AMD Radeon R7 M270 GPU with dedicated 4 GB DDR3 VRAM and a 256 GB SSD for storage. Thus, the Dell Inspiron 15-7548 is a good laptop for moderate gaming as well as work. Audio quality is impressive with stereo speakers utilizing Waves MaxxAudio processing. Other features include a webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a HDMI out and a card reader. The Dell Inspiron 15-7548 weighs in at 2.06 kg and comes equipped with a Lithium Ion battery rated at 58 Wh.

Slimmed down. The new version of the Inspiron 15 of the 7000-series is much slimmer than the predecessor, and now has a 4K display. However, the restriction is not only limited to the chassis: You also have to live with drawbacks in terms of graphics performance and battery runtimes.

The lower end models offer great build quality and good value for the price. The high end $1,449 UHD 4K model with SSD and 16 gigs of RAM used for this review isn't as great a value when you can get more powerful laptops at that price. Still, it has a classy chassis, excellent build quality and serviceable internals, which earn points back.

At the end of the day, if it you’re shopping in this price range, even Dell has better options. The base XPS 15 is only $100 more, and while it’s technically less impressive in some respects, the actual user experience is far superior. The XPS system is more attractive, more portable, and ships with relatively little bloat.

Windows convertibles are in a sorry state. The Dell Inspiron 13 7000 SE 2-in-1 is the sixth model we’ve reviewed so far this year, and like those that’ve come before it, there are some serious flaws. Battery life is not on par with the best thoroughbred laptops and the hardware is a bit too expensive, given what’s received.

All told, the Inspiron 15 7000 presents a challenging value proposition. On the upside, it's a well-built multimedia laptop with a great 4K display, a pleasing design, and solid battery life. Although somewhat pricey at $1,449, it's much less than Dell's deluxe XPS 15 and offers many of the same features.

Dell made the Inspiron 15 7000 an elegant multimedia notebook. Its sexy design will make you want to show it off, and its stunning and responsive optional 4K touch screen will be the envy of your friends. However, while this system offers solid overall performance, the discrete AMD graphics aren't powerful enough to play the most demanding games, especially at its native resolution.

If a big laptop is on your shopping list, the Inspiron 15 7000 is a contender, but a quirky one. It can take time to get used to its design; the lack of a number pad on the keyboard makes it unlike big laptops we’ve seen from other vendors, and gives the notebook an over-sized feel. The 4K screen is great for viewing photos, but its reflective finish was an annoyance. For navigation, the touchpad wasn’t good to us.

Dell Inspiron 15 (7548) review – sleek and powerful notebook with UHD touch screen, great for multimedia
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Dell Inspiron 7548 is a great multimedia notebook with a thin, sleek and premium design. Maybe a bit on the heavier side, but quite manageable. The laptop is designed to look great, but it does struggle a bit to keep the internals cool. This may be because of the sufficient grills for dispersing the heat, which are located only at the bottom. Nevertheless, this can be fixed easily with an external cooling pad. But it’s quite unlikely that a normal user would be capable of reproducing such big CPU and GPU loads in real-life conditions, so we can’t say this is a considerable drawback.

Dell Inspiron 15-3551

Dell has offered a very affordable 15 inch laptop meant to give users their money’s worth. Since this is Dell, you get both optimal functionality and portability. For starters, there is a 15.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen is glossy but has added brightness and decent viewing angles. The body is made entirely out of matte black plastic. The back panel is textured and there is a Dell logo. The front display features a black bezel all around the screen and the display panel is apparently very sturdy. The battery can provide up to 5 hours independent power usage. This laptop is powered by an Intel Pentium N3540 quad core processor with 1M cache, a base clock of 2.16 GHz and a burst frequency of 2.66 GHz. Alternatively, you can choose an Intel Celeron N2840 processor with basically all the same features as the Intel Pentium, except for a burst frequency of only 2.58 GHz. The other hardware here include a 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB SATA HDD 5400 rpm hard disk and an Intel HD graphics card. Windows 8.1 64 bit is used as OS. The Inspiron 15 weighs about 2.4 kg and is slightly over 2 cm thick, which provides well for moderate portability.

Dell's new Inspiron 15 3551 does make an impression thanks to its thinner profile and its surprisingly long warranty. Running times are also better than most of the competition. These features are help back slightly by its performance that is not any better with its quad core processor or the fact that it does not come with a DVD drive. Still, for some buyers size and running times may be enough to make it a solid choice.

All-rounder. With its stylish design, Dell's 15.6-inch Inspiron 15-5548 all-rounder aims to attract the attention of potential buyers. The hardware equipment is satisfactory. However, Dell should have put more effort in terms of GPU and screen.

Dark screen. Dell sends a 15.6-inch all-rounder into the fight for buyers' favor with its Inspiron 15-5558. The laptop pleases with an IPS screen that, however, has a much too low brightness. Dell could have been a bit less tightfisted with the GPU.

In a few ways, this year's Dell Inspiron 15 5000-series is a step down from last year's model. Build quality and battery life have both dipped, which is not something I'd typically expect from Dell. However, the compromises the company has made has allowed it to reinstate the DVD drive, which some users will be happy about, install a Full HD screen and bolster both the processing and graphics performance of this mid-range laptop.

Dell Inspiron 5558 review – affordable multimedia notebook for everyday use
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Dell Inspiron 5558 is a good mid-range multimedia notebook that offers good specs at a reasonable price. It has enough performance in store to handle even pretty demanding computational tasks, and work with heavy professional software with the Intel Core i7 CPU and 16GB RAM. The discrete (but entry-level) GeForce 920M offers decent performance for some light graphics tasks and gaming on low settings, but you won’t be able to play any heavy games like Thief or Grand Theft Auto V, as it simply does not offer enough performance. You would think that all these powerful components would heat up the machine a lot, but Dell have done a good job with the heat management of the machine. The temperatures, even under heavy load, are far from the operational maximum, and the device was comfortable to touch even after 2 hours of stress testing.

Dell Inspiron 5551 (15 5000) review – the low price isn’t its key selling point
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
So we are left with 3 other very important aspects for a business worthy notebook – comfortable keyboard and touchpad, good battery life and connectivity. Well, the Inspiron 5551 covers all of that, or at least the most part of it. The keyboard is more than good, but the touchpad is awful. Sometimes it failed to register a right or left mouse click as well as simple gestures or touches – quite frustrating. However, battery life is just amazing – you will get more than 6 hours straight when browsing or watching a movie. As far as connectivity is concerned, our only complaint here is the lack of LAN port. This, in our opinion, is a necessity for most notebooks and since this is not an ultrabook or convertible, an RJ-45 port would be more than appreciated. So is it worth your money? Definitely! This is one of the best notebooks in the lower-end segment.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series is perfect for our review purposes in that it's almost perfectly average. Does it excel in any one way? Not really. But it also won't let you down very often—provided you go in expecting the performance of a $500 laptop. It's a solid all-around machine and thus a solid choice for pretty much anyone in this budget, although it lacks some of the more specialized features found in certain competitors.

A fresh take. Dell’s Inspiron 15 7558 continues the manufacturer’s expansion of the Inspiron line into more premium territory, this time with a 2-in-1 convertible design (similar to Lenovo’s smaller Yoga machines). Can it inspire us with its rebalanced priorities?

The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 offers a subtle but attractive design and good performance for the money, but a shallow keyboard and dull screen hold it back. Dell's Inspiron 15 7000 Series 2-in-1 makes for a great laptop and an OK tablet. It feels in every way like a laptop first and foremost, and I found myself defaulting to the laptop configuration in most instances. The extra screen real estate is welcome in certain scenarios in tablet mode, but the display is just too big to hold over your lap, and you may gravitate towards the HP Spectre x360 for these reasons.

If you want a portable touch-screen laptop that provides a kiosklike experience for reading recipes in the kitchen, watching videos with a couple of friends or making presentations, the $549 and $599 configurations of the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 offer a lot of value for the money. However, they promise slower performance than the Core i5, 256GB-SSD model we tested.

Dell Inspiron 5545 with AMD A10-7300 review – when performance exceeds the price
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
The Dell Inspiron 5545 is a true gem in its class in terms of performance. Not all notebooks under €500 can run GTA V with decent frame rates and this is mainly due to the asymmetric CrossFire configuration that the iGPU and the discrete GPU (both Radeon of course) offer. You can rely on both GPUs to handle graphically intense tasks, but the compute performance and the TDP (19W) are not par with the latest technology trends, though. Still, we cannot be too picky at this price range. Another notable feature of this notebook is the design. It really looks and feels good with solid build quality, but there’s more to be desired in this aspect to be honest. We are disappointed with the size of the keys, the touchpad performance and the silicon legs at the bottom, which failed to keep the notebook stable on the surface. There are too many inconsistencies that can’t be overlooked. The display isn’t anything special as well, but we can let it pass considering the price tag.

While we appreciated the Dell Inspiron 15 3000's ($400) solid speakers, this laptop suffers where it truly counts. Dell Inspiron 15-5559-5088

With the market already saturated with laptops, Dell inspires users with a fresh take on its Inspiron 15 5000 series. At first glance, it evokes a solid impression which means business. Thus, it tips the scales towards the heavier side with a weight of 5.4 lb (2.45 kg) and a thickness of 0.94” (2.39 cm). Built mainly to appeal laptop users instead of the tablet-crowd, it is equipped with a 15” display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Colors and brightness are of average quality. Performance-wise, it runs on 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5-6200U processor with Intel HD Graphics 520 adapter. In addition, it comes with a 1 TB 5,400-rpm SATA hard drive. Decked with a full-size island-style backlit keyboard, usability will not be affected even under low-lighting conditions. The touchpad on the Inspiron 15 is wide and responsive. The connectivity includes USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, and a memory card slot. Networking is supported by both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition, Dell offers an Intel RealSense camera, which is not only for capturing images, but is also capable of gesture control and enabling gaming with depth sensing. The Windows 10 system delivers an above average battery life. Thus, the Inspiron 15 will certainly draw the attention of many.

The Inspiron 15 (3558) is a fully functional, well-made laptop with good speed and a low price point. It's not packed with features and keeps things simple, but for $329, it's not missing anything essential. Its newer processor provides a noticeable bump up in performance over the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series Non-Touch's CPU, and it boasts superior battery life and double the storage. You're getting a smaller screen, but that's really the only downside, and increased portability may be preferable to some.

A great example of "you get what you pay for," the Inspiron 15 3000's slow performance, hot temperatures and dull screen make it a poor deal, even at $250. For even less money, the 14-inch Acer Aspire One Cloudbook lasts nearly three times as long on a charge. However, if you can afford to spend just a little more, the Asus F555LA ($370) offers better performance, a sharp 1080p display and speakers just as strong as the Inspiron's.

Dell Inspiron 5559 review – reliable machine for your business tasks
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
Dell has made some sacrifices in order to bring the price to a very competitive level without compromising the notebook reliability. At the end of the day, maybe that’s what is most important for serious work, but you should know that Inspiron 5559 isn’t suitable for anything else. Although the AMD Radeon R5 M335 graphic card has its own dedicated memory (4GB DDR3), this doesn’t necessarily mean that you can use it for gaming – CS:GO is the limit, or may be GTA V and Tomb Raider, at their lowest settings. Let’s put that aside, you probably wouldn’t be reading this review if you’re a gamer – Dell Inspiron 5559 has very good CPU performance and if you invest a hundred bucks in an additional SSD (you can swap the DVD writer with an HDD caddy), the notebook will become blazingly fast in all your business applications. Add to that the aforementioned reliability (secured by the 36 months of NBD warranty), you get one of the best business laptops out there.

Dell Inspiron 15 3552 review – a solid low-end performer
Source: Laptop Media English Archive.org version
The Inspiron 3552 is definitely a solid performer with little setbacks along the way. In terms of design and construction, the laptop impresses with relatively light and compact dimensions, some parts also feel pretty flexible and smudges stick pretty easily around the whole surface. Still, this is very common for this price range, but what’s uncommon are the surprisingly good input devices. The keyboard and touchpad are pretty comfortable to use.

Fusion. With a 15-inch convertible, Dell tries to merge the most important qualities of a laptop and tablet in its new Inspiron. However, some compromises have to be made to achieve this high goal.

Ultimately, the Dell Inspiron 15 5568 shares many of the same flaws as its nearest competitor, the 14.1in Lenovo Yoga 700. It’s incredibly fast and has plenty of power, but its poor display, problematic keyboard and underwhelming battery life make it one huge compromise when it comes to everything else. Overall, the Yoga 700 just about comes out on top, as its screen is marginally more accurate and its battery lasts just that little bit longer. However, it’s also £100 more expensive than the Inspiron 15 5568, which is a sizable increase in price for not a lot of benefit.

Dell Inspiron 15-5578

Dell rarely fails to inspire with the Inspiron. It constantly evolves the Inspiron brand name to suit contemporaneous needs. It is meant to be the beating heart of Dell. Laptops under this category are good, affordable, and suitable for all purposes be it gaming, work, or studying. The new Inspiron 15 5578 stands as an attractive 2-in-1 laptop which provides users with flexible modes and exciting options. With its 360 degree hinge, it is easily convertible to four different modes i.e. laptop, stand, tablet, and tent. This is a common feature found in 12-inch and 13-inch models, but it is quite surprising that Dell included it in a 15-inch laptop. The laptop looks business-like with its dark gray finish and smooth, matte black interior. Dell’s attempt to minimize the bezel size is also noteworthy, as it provides with more viewing area. Overall, the Inspiron 15 is a solid laptop clearly built to last as it has also been tested to withstand harsh conditions. Its size is 20.2 x 381.9 x 253.1 mm and it weighs 2.3 kg. Performance-wise, it is powered by a 7th generation Intel Core i7-7500U processor with integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 GPU. Hence, running demanding software and multi-tasking should not be an issue. Nevertheless, the lack of a dedicated graphic card renders the Inspiron inappropriate for gaming with high setting and resolution. Its 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080 resolution) IPS Truelife LED-Backlit touchscreen display is no less disappointing. Response on its touchscreen is prompt and sensitive. Colors appear bright with strong details. Memory options range between 8 GB up to 16 GB of RAM, and storage options available are 1 TB 5400 rpm hard drive or up to 512 GB SSD. There is no optical drive included. Network connectivity is supported by 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. Sound quality is pretty decent as the Inspiron 15 comes integrated with Waves MaxxAudio Pro. Connectivity is aplenty on this machine as it comes equipped with an SD Card Reader, a USB 2.0 port, a HDMI port, two USB 3.0 ports, and an audio jack. Its 3-cell 42 Wh battery should be able to last around 7 hours of web browsing. The laptop comes pre-installed with Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Its precision touchpad with multi-touch control is wide and sensitive. The keyboard bundled together is spill resistant and users may opt for a backlit keyboard for use in dim environments. The additional infrared camera option supports ‘Windows Hello’ face recognition. Reviews received thus far have been favorable to the Inspiron 15 and they are rightly so. Its low price factor would greatly benefit students and families. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

Dell Inspiron 15 5567-1760

The Dell Inspiron 15 5567-1760 is a balanced mid-range laptop. It is one of the several new releases in Dell’s core Inspiron series, offering the new Intel Kaby Lake processors of the seventh generation and more powerful discrete video cards. It offers good build quality, excellent touchpad experience and a comfortable keyboard for typing. The complete design concept of the new Inspiron 5567 reminds of old Dell machines with a sleek lid and a contrasting gray interior. It also offers a pretty thin profile, relatively robust craftsmanship and generally good text input devices. The lid has a glossy plastic surface with the Dell logo in the middle and great surprise that fingerprints and smudges are visible only in direct light. The lower part is made of the usual black lightweight plastic, offering only a small ventilation opening in the middle for additional airflow. Under the hood, the Inspiron 15 5567 includes a Core i7-7500U, an AMD Radeon R7 M445 with 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 16 GB of DDR4-2400 RAM, and a clear Full HD IPS panel. Interestingly, even low-end configurations can be purchased with an IPS panel, making the laptop a pretty good alternative to the Ideapad 510. However, for the graphic processor, it offers an AMD Radeon R7 M445 which is an entry level graphics card based on the old Radeon M340 but equipped with GDDR5 VRAM. Modern games should be playable with this graphics card at low settings and resolutions. The Dell Inspiron 5567 features Full HD touch panel with an IPS-type matrix called Samsung SDC8B4F. Its diagonal is 15.6-inch (39.62 cm) and the resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. The aspect ratio is 16:9, the pixel density is 142 PPI, the pitch is 0.18 x 0.18 mm. The screen turns into Retina when viewed from a distance greater than or equal to 60 cm. Besides that, the Dell Inspiron 5567 has a very good sound optimized with MaxxAudio technology. The tones are clear from low to high frequencies and have the necessary power and purity. The battery has a capacity of 42 Wh and is available in all configurations. Charging provides more time to work away from the charger when it comes to surfing the Internet. The sides are only 23.3 mm in size, making the laptop one of the thinnest in its class. Yet there are ports and connectors that are also evenly distributed. The left side offers RJ-45 connectivity for LAN, HDMI, 3.5 mm audio jack and two USB 3.0 connectors. And on the right side, there is an SD card reader, USB 2.0 and the optical drive. The Inspiron series has always been the benchmark in its category. This laptop is no different. With an affordable price, good build quality and good specs, there are hardly any competitors which can beat it. Hands-on article by Jagadisa Rajarathnam

Dell Inspiron i5567-1836GRY is the quintessential mid-range laptop with solid performance for software, poor graphics performance and mediocre screen. So, any program-related stuff you do on this computer will be a smooth sail, for that you can thank the Core i5 processor running inside. Gaming will be limited to last season titles because graphics card is a mere integrated unit. Image quality is crisp although somewhat hampered by the uninspiring 1366×768 resolution. All in all, for the money the Dell is still a good buy for someone’s home or office laptop.

Dell: Dell is a U.S. manufacturer (based in Texas) of computer hardware founded in 1984 and is one of the largest international manufacturers in terms of both market share and notebook models. Its product line includes desktops, notebooks, storage systems, monitors, servers, printers, consumer electronics and peripherals. Dell offers laptops that are suitable for various applications, such as business laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables and workstations. Dell's business laptops from the Latitude and Precision series are an option for professional users and businesses.

In 2023, Dell had an approximate 17% market share of global PC sales, ranking #3 after Lenovo and HP.

For gaming enthusiasts, Dell's Alienware brand is for gaming notebooks.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Onboard (shared Memory) GPU built in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset (Montevina). Because of two more shaders and a higher core clock, much faster than the old GMA X3100. Still not advisable for gamers (DirectX 10 games not playable or only with very low settings). The integrated video processor is able to help decode HD videos (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , e.g., for a fluent Blu-Ray playback with slow CPUs.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330: Lower clocked Radeon 4530 with a current consumption of 7 Watt (according to AMD). Supports DirectX 10.1 and Avivo HD for HD video acceleration.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Onboard graphics card that is built in the new Arrandale CPUs (Core i3 / i5 / i7 Dual Cores). Depending on the model and Turbo Boost, the GMA HD is clocked between 166 and 766 MHz.

Intel HD Graphics 3000: Integrated graphics card in the Intel Sandy Bridge processors (Core ix-2xxx). The HD 3000 is the faster (internally GT2 called) version with 12 Execution Units (EUs).

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail):

Integrated GPU for tablet and notebook Bay Trail SoCs. Based on the Ivy Bridge GPU with four Execution Units and support for DirectX 11.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M:

Multiple models based on various chips of the Fermi generation. Specifically, the GT 630M exists in GF108/GF106/GF116 variants, but are all essentially renamed GeForce GT 540M or 555M GPUs. A 28nm GF117 variant exists as well with reduced power consumption.

AMD Radeon HD 7670M: Renamed Radeon HD 6650M and therefore still produced in 40nm.

AMD Radeon HD 8750M: Mid-range graphics card based on the GCN architecture.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M: Upper mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GT 700M series. Based on the Kepler architecture and manufactured by TSMC in a 28nm process.

Mid-range graphics card from the GeForce 800M series based on the Maxwell architecture.

NVIDIA GeForce 920M: Renamed GeForce 825M Kepler based graphics card (GK208) with sligthly higher clock speed.

Intel HD Graphics 520: Integrated GPU (GT2) with 24 EUs found on some Skylake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

AMD Radeon R5 M335: Entry level dedicated graphics with 320 shader cores clocked at 1070 MHz with 64-bit DDR3 graphics memory clocked at 1000 MHz.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Upper mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series.

AMD Radeon R7 M445: Entry level graphics card based on the old Radeon M340 but equipped with GDDR5 graphics memory.

Intel HD Graphics 620: Integrated GPU (GT2) found on some Kaby-Lake CPU models (15 W ULV series).

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G7 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 80 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.

Intel HD Graphics 4000: Processor graphics card in the high end Ivy Bridge models. Offers a different clock speed in the different CPU models (ULV to desktop quad core) and therefore a different performance.

Intel HD Graphics 4400:

ULV integrated GPU (GT2) with 20 EUs found on certain Haswell CPU models.

Intel HD Graphics 5500: Integrated graphics card (GT2) in the Core processors of the Broadwell U-series (15 W TDP).

AMD Radeon R4 (Beema):

Integrated GPU on select AMD Beema APUs. Based on the GCN architecture with 128 shader units and a core clock up to 800 MHz.

Intel HD Graphics (Braswell): Integrated graphics card in the Intel Braswell series (Celeron and Pentium) processors. Based on the Broadwell architecture (Intel Gen8) supporting DirectX 11.2. Depending on the processor offers 12 or 16 shader cores (EU) and different clock speed.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU: Mid-range gaming laptop graphics card based on the Ampere GA107 chip. Offers 2048 shaders and is offered in different TGP (power consumption) variants from 35 to 80 Watt with different clock speeds and therefore performance. Older variant with 4GB VRAM.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).

The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.

T6400: Entry level dual core processor based on the Penryn core with only 2 MB level 2 cache and a low clock speed.

SU7300: Slow clocked dual core processor with a low TDP of 10 Watt.

14.00:

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.

In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

15.00:

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

1.2 kg:

3.2 kg:

A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.

72.38%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
