Reviews for the Dell 16S DS16260
The 16S is a massive upgrade over last year's Dell 16 Plus. At higher configuration levels, however, prices can balloon to ridiculous levels to make the XPS 16 the better buy.

The Dell 16S (2026) is a competent Windows ultrabook that impresses with excellent endurance, solid Panther Lake grunt and a smart, connectivity-rich chassis. It is quite expensive against beefier rivals, though, not least without an OLED screen, and it's quite heavy to boot.

Dell’s 16S stands out for getting far more right than wrong, pairing a premium-feeling chassis with an outstanding OLED display, practical ports, and long battery life. Excitement isn’t its forte, but it remains a smart choice for daily use, entertainment, and schoolwork. Just be careful not to overspend: While the base and midrange models present genuine value, higher-end CPU options push the 16S into a price bracket where Acer’s Swift 16 AI and Asus’ Zenbook A16 present more compelling packages.

We've had a mixed experience using the Dell 16S, with plenty of positives including a fresh design, snappy keyboard, and healthy selection of ports, but there are too many flaws to suggest that it offers value for money at its current price. What you're paying for in the Dell 16S is its sophisticated and robust chassis that boasts a strong design and a guaranteed level of physical reliability – while still being enjoyable to work with on a day-to-day basis.

The Dell 16S is a fair laptop that simply doesn’t manage to stand out. It goes up against a lot of really solid options that are not only comparable in price, but also spec’d out to be far more impressive in terms of performance. It may have a decent design and effective performance, but that’s not enough.

The Dell 16s Laptop (DS16260) is a versatile, highly practical 16-inch notebook designed to prioritize mainstream productivity, expansion, and daily usability. Powered by modern Intel Core processors and configured with a spacious 16-inch display. While it stands out as a dependable workhorse with solid efficiency, I have to note that taking a more conventional design approach means you are accepting a somewhat bulkier frame, standard display brightness, and plastic internal accents rather than an ultra-sleek, all-metal build.
