Pros
Cons
The Dell 14S DS14260 is a portable Windows 11 laptop powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 7 355 processor and integrated Xe3 graphics. Its 14-inch OLED touchscreen delivers sharp images, strong contrast, and accurate colors. The configuration includes 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5x memory, a 70 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Reviewers praise the rigid chassis, practical port selection, comfortable everyday performance, and excellent battery life. However, the laptop is relatively heavy, and its performance trails stronger alternatives at similar prices. It is best suited to users who prioritize display quality, connectivity, and endurance over gaming power and overall value.

Reviews for the Dell 14S DS14260
The Dell 14S is a significant improvement over the Dell 14 Plus especially in terms of chassis design and rigidity. It is nonetheless slightly heavier than we would like even for a 16-inch form factor.

If you don’t have any Windows-on-Arm hangups, then I would steer you toward the HP OmniBook 5 14 or Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x Gen 11 instead. Each delivers the same 14-inch OLED display, but in a lighter package for less, while also supplying double the RAM and storage.

For a road warrior looking for a slim and stylish laptop, I think the Dell 14S fits the bill. I think that this laptop is best suited for a freelancer or small businessperson without a rigid IT department who appreciates the OLED touch screen for content consumption on the road and also wants to communicate a sense of style and design.

The Dell 14S will be available first in the US with UK availability and prices to be confirmed. I’d expect it to be available relatively soon, though, otherwise it will completely miss the boat on the academic year.

The Dell 14S is a sleek, office-focused laptop with a gorgeous screen on the OLED option. And you get Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7 paired with USB-A and HDMI, something that premium laptops won't give you without a docking station.

The Dell 14S does a solid impression of the XPS 14 at a more affordable price, and that’s no simple feat. Dell made the necessary upgrades to justify its price increase over last year’s 14 Plus, particularly given the general inflation in tech pricing this year. Largely matching the look and feel of the XPS, while still delivering solid performance and otherworldly battery life at this price point, is what makes this such a compelling laptop for students.

Bar-raising battery life helps Dell’s 14S stand out in a competitive market. The problem is that its performance is already challenged by midrange models that either match it or beat it on list price. Beyond that, component upgrades quickly push this laptop's price into territory where not only do some of the systems we compared become even more compelling alternatives, but like-priced models (like Dell's own XPS line and HP's advanced OmniBook range) outstrip the 14S easily in features and speed. Nonetheless, the Dell 14S is still a reasonable recommendation if you stick to the lower trims and wait for a big Dell.com discount.

The Dell 14S is a decent, middle-of-the-pack machine. It doesn’t offer exceptional performance or an eye-catching design, but its modesty doesn’t hurt it much either. It still packs a lovely display, even if it could stand to be brighter. The performance could be faster, but generally keeps up with everyday office duties and browsing. And the design is plenty portable while still offering ample cooling to the hardware.

The Dell 14S DS14260 (available at Dell) makes the most sense for someone who wants a sleek, portable 14-inch office companion and cares about the screen. The OLED panel's contrast and color, the sharp text, and the smooth everyday performance make it a genuinely pleasant machine to work, study, and stream on. It's not for everyone, though. At $1,469, the 14S isn't a bargain, and a MacBook Air with an M5 will outrun it in both performance and battery life, at a starting price of $1,299. But if you're set on Windows and you value display quality, portability, and practical ports over raw speed, the 14S is an easy laptop to live with.
