ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED is a stylish and easy-to-use laptop built on a fast processor from Intel 13th generation, which at the same time can run on battery during the working day. The model is suitable for those users who are looking for a more powerful solution for everyday work, but do not want to lose mobility. However, the version with integrated graphics is less interesting compared to the configuration in which there is a discrete GeForce RTX 3050 video card. Considering the already rather high cost of the model, it makes sense to look at the older version, which is more balanced in terms of specifications.

That affordable pricing is one of the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED’s impressive attributes. It doesn’t just undercut rivals at the checkout: it outpaces them thanks to the Core i7 processor and has a better display than most, too. The sleek looks from the beige model combine with a comfortable keyboard and decent connectivity to create a laptop with the power and ability to handle most everyday tasks. Battery life is the 14X’s biggest weakness, and we’d advise a MacBook if you need all-day longevity – and the 14in model if you need even more speed. For most situations, though, the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED ticks the right boxes. It’s a classy, impressive and affordable all-rounder.

Overall, this laptop is a mixed bag. It has a lot of power under the hood, but it comes with limitations, such as the lack of upgrade options and the high noise levels when the fan speeds increase. The battery life is decent, but it’s directly related to the screen brightness and what’s being viewed. The port placement is also inconvenient, but the inclusion of Windows Hello is a nice touch. The price is quite steep, but that’s to be expected from a laptop with such powerful specifications. It’s ultimately up to the user to decide whether the price is worth the performance.

And finally, the price. This laptop is priced at a whopping RM5,999 for this exact configuration and I think that it is indeed expensive. There is another Core i5-13500H version that has the same 16GB RAM but half the storage, is priced at RM4,999 only – which I think is a more reasonable price but doesn’t have the ceramic-like finish. But, if you want to be a little more baller – then you can spend RM6,999 for the Core i9-13900H version too. You’ll get a lot more CPU power on paper, but I think it’ll probably thermal throttle very quickly. I do think that if you’re doing MATLAB or similar types of simulation, having a Core i9 will be a big boon for you.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED UX3404 is a solid ultraportable productivity laptop, thanks to its vibrant OLED display and performance-oriented CPU. It has its ups and downs but for the best experience possible in the long run, don’t skimp out on the RAM and get the one with touchscreen support. If you can stomach its asking price of RM5,999, I’m sure it will serve you well.

The Asus Zenbook 14X OLED (2023) gets a lot right. It’s fast, sturdy and has a fantastic screen. Its snappy keyboard and decent connectivity keep things moving. This laptop is cheaper than several rivals too. That said, look elsewhere for boundary-pushing performance or all-day battery life.

The latest to join the Asus family is none other than the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED (UX3404VC). As far as its design is concerned, this device definitely looks great, especially in its sandy shade model which has been decorated with sleek lines. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the coating uses no halogens and generates lower emissions as compared to other techniques. Furthermore, thanks to its MIL-STD-810H certification, this build quality is quite impressive. As for its connectivity, this device has been equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a full-size USB port. Apart from that, there is also an HDMI 2.1 output and an audio jack. Internally, there is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Apart from that, this model includes a 1080p webcam with Windows Hello, along with a fingerprint reader which has been embedded within the power button.
In terms of its keyboard, with 1.4mm of travel, there is definitely more movement than most laptops in this class, and that travel is paired with a soft, quiet and comfortable feel. Overall, it is easily good enough for long days of typing. While there is no numberpad, it is quite normal for this size of laptop. However, pressing a button lays a software numberpad over the trackpad, as with many other Asus models, but it is an awkward stopgap. Well, the trackpad is better in its more normal guise, where it is smooth and accurate.
As for its display, this laptop carries an OLED panel tech which simply means perfect black levels and the sensational contrast which would not be available from any IPS or Mini LED panel. This has been paired with 2880 x 1800 resolution which delivers crisp imagery and loads of on-screen space for multiple windows, and the 16:10 aspect ratio adds height. In addition, the 120Hz refresh rate delivers butter-smooth movement in every app and it makes everything look slicker than conventional 60Hz displays.
As far as its performance is concerned, Asus has incorporated the laptop with the full-power Intel Core i7-13700H alongside 16GB of dual-channel memory and a 1TB SSD with reasonable read and write speeds of 4268MB/s and 3345MB/s. The weakest point of this portable device has to be its battery. While the 70Wh power pack lasted for 11 hours and 40 minutes in a video test, it could only stand up to seven hours in an everyday work test. It might not be the worst out there, but a full day of work will be a struggle as there are Apple’s machines which are far better for longevity. In a nutshell, this is definitely a great laptop which needs further exploring, depending on the need and preference of the user.

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
