AMD Laptop Drivers for Windows 7
Category: notebook componentsBy: Klaus Hinum
AMD just published Beta drivers for the Mobility Radeon HD 2000, HD 3000, and HD 4000 series graphic cards.
Looks like AMD is finally catching up to Nvidia and releasing public laptop drivers for their mobile graphics card lineup. AMD just released a Windows 7 beta driver on their hompage (based on the Catalyst 9.9?) for the following series:
- ATI Mobility Radoen HD 2000
- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000
- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4000
Still up to now there is no Windows Vista or XP driver for newer cards available, but hopefully this may change. Up to now users of AMD GPUs had to manually install or mod desktop drivers on their laptops (or stick with the old drivers the laptop vendor ships).
