Combining various gameplay mechanics, Medieval Kingdom Wars takes place in medieval Europe during the Hundred Years' War. You'll need to expand your kingdom, defeat your opponents, and make various decisions that will shape your future.

Medieval Kingdom Wars invites you to rewrite European history in 1336 through strategy, kingdom management, and real-time battles. Now available for $4.49 instead of $14.99 until September 5, 2026, according to SteamDB, this game lets you begin your adventure as a noble in the service of your king.

You can choose from 14 factions and 50 different lords. The map of Europe is constantly evolving and includes about 200 towns inspired by real-world locations. You’ll serve your king by completing various missions, conquering territories and ruling over these different lands. To achieve your objectives, you’ll need to conduct sieges and battles on land and at sea with up to 120 battalions. You can also loot and destroy cities to acquire resources.

To manage your cities, you'll need to assign tasks to your peasants, construct buildings, and unlock more than 240 technologies. As you progress, you'll be able to make decisions that lead you down different paths. Indeed, you'll have the option to serve your king or overthrow him.

In addition, Reverie World Studios has added other mechanics, such as dynamic weather, social interactions, and a world editor.

Often compared to the Total War or Age of Empires series on Steam, Medieval Kingdom Wars is praised for its setting, RTS mechanics, and management features. However, other players point out a clunky interface, a lack of information about certain features, and optimization issues. Furthermore, the graphics aren't to everyone's taste and seem dated. Overall, 75% of its 2,615 reviews on Steam are positive.
